The DQ 9 event was a promotional event for the newly released game in which players were invited to receive a special map
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
I believe it’s important because it was something that Square Enix has never really done before and it was a way to market the multi-player aspect of a game that’s normally completely single player

Zenimax picked up the Quake and Doom developer in order to increase sales which also provided id with internal publishing capability
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
It was a shift in who published what game which always controls who is getting the money. So when id releases their new games, it doesn’t go to third party publishing

The kids parents banned him from playing video games because they felt he was playing too much. One day at school he jumped off the 6th floor of his school to his death.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This just goes to show that video games can really affect some people’s lives, especially when they can’t handle themselves, but it showed that it’s not only MMORPGs

The merger shifted a lot of stocks and money around and it also solidified their position in the gaming world increasing their competitive edge

Hans Jørgen Olsen was in the woods with his sister when she was attacked by a moose. He “taunted” the moose to get its attention and then “feign death” in order to make the moose lose interest.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This event is important to the industry because it shows that kids can often learn things from video games that can sometimes save their lives.

Though it’s called the Activision/Blizzard Merger, it was actually Activision merging with Vivendi games which in a sense controls Blizzard as an independent entity

Activision took the lead on this merger mostly because of all the money from World of Warcraft, bringing together pure-play online and console gaming companies

It’s important because the distributor was sued and it makes more people lobby against great games because some people don’t know their limits

The exclusive license completely shattered the competition for sports video games

Square and Enix merged in order to create a massive force for creating video games and survive against growing threats of other companies
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This merger was important in that it brought the makers of Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy together, the largest RPG franchises of all time. It brought together new styles of design for current games made by the company.

Shawn Woolley, an avid Everquest player, allegedly committed suicide over the game.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
Shawn’s mother wanted to sue Sony, blaming the game. It went to show that some people depend on games much like drugs and alcohol.
