  America finally ratreats after 20 years of difficult war. They realized that they wouldn't win and the war was destroying their homeland. They left and North Vietnam one.

• Gereld in Office
  9 Aug 1974

  Gereld Ford replaces President.

• Nixon Out of Office
  9 Aug 1974

  Nixon goes out of office after four years of service. Shortest service of any Vietnam president.

• Battle of Hamburger Hill
  1 Jul 1969

  This was a very risky battle. US command decided to take the hill by direct force. This was done by running directly up the hill. This ended up in an American Victory.

• Vietnamization
  1 Jul 1969

  Vietnamization was a program that trained anti communist forces to fight. Nixon created it.

• Johnson Out of Office
  20 Jan 1969

  President Lyndon B. Johnson is out of office due to maximum term length.

• Nixon in Office
  20 Jan 1969

  Richard Nixon replaces President Johnson. He becomes the 37th president of the US.

• Battle of Khe Sanh
  8 Apr 1968

  This battle was a massive American Arial bombardment. This battle ended in a disaster in which both sides claimed victory.

• Battle of Dak To
  1 Jul 1967

  US intelligence finds small communist forces located in South Vietnam. They sent in brigades of Sothern Vietanam and American troops.

• JFK Assassinated
  22 Nov 1963

  President John F. Kennedy is assassinated during a visit to Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald was thought to be the assassin but was killed before he could stand in trial.

• Johnson Elected
  22 Nov 1963

  After the assassination of JFK Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, stepped in and took his place.

• Eisenhower Out of Office
  20 Jan 1961

  After eight years in office, the maximum amount of time in office, Eisenhower is out of office.

• John F. Kennedy Elected
  20 Jan 1961

  Demrocratic president John F. Kennedy is elcted into office to become the 35th president of the United States.

• Military Advisors Arested
  15 Nov 1954

  North Vietnam arests American and other anti communist advisors sent to help South Vietnam. North Vietnam did this in order to help secure a victory.

• Viet Minh overrun French
  15 May 1954

  Viet Minh launch an attack on French troops who control Vietnam. After a month and a half of war, the Viet Minh suceeded. The French pull out of Vietnam.
