• ''Oregen Fever'' Ends
  1860

  The number of people coming to Oregen across the Oregen trail decreased alot. People weren't eagerly seeking a new life in Oregen like they were before.

• Gadsen Purchase
  1853

  The United States paid 15,000,000 dollars for Arkansa,Nevada,Utah,New Mexico,and parts of Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming. Then the United States paid 10 million more dollars for Southern Arizona and South Western New Mexico.

• 93,000 New Setlers Have Arrived in California
  1850

  More and more settlers were going to California in hopes of finding gold. After gold was found on January 24,1848,in California, a lot of settlers began arriving there. This was eventually called the California Gold Rush.

• 80,000 New Settlers Have Arrived in California
  1849

  After gold was found in California, settlers have been coming to California in hope of finding some gold for themselves. This was later called the California Gold Rush.

• Mexican War Ends
  1848

  America had finally won the Mexican war and gained more land for themselves. They also pushed all the Mexicans back to Mexico in a part of the war called the Bear Flag Revolt.

• Gold Discovered in California
  Jan 24, 1848

  Miners were mining in California and then they finally struck gold.This eventually caused a lot of people to want to come to California to try and discover some gold for themselves.This was later called the California Gold Rush.

• Mexican War Begins
  Jul 1, 1846

  America wanted more land so they fought Mexico for its land.A peaceful solution broke down and President James K. Polk prepared people for war.

• Oregen Territory Treaty
  1846

  The United States and Britan agreed on the border between Canada and Oregen in the treaty. This treaty was basically just setting territory.

• Texas Becomes a State
  1845

  Texas had become their own country but problems were starting to occur and Texas requested to become a state in the United States.It took The United States about 10 years to decide but the year after James K. Polk became a president people took a vote and Texas became a U.S. state.

• "Oregen Fever Begins"
  1840

  People were traveling to Oregen across the Oregen trail, most seeking a new life. People who were eageraly seeking a new life were said to have ''oregen fever''.

• Texas Revolution Ends
  Jul 1, 1836

  Texas won the war against Mexico in their fight for freedom.In the war at San Jacinto, the Texans got Santa Anna to surendur and sign a treaty to take all of his men out of Texas and gave the Texans freedom. This was the end of the Texas Revolution.

• Texas Revolution Begins
  1835

  The Texans didnt like the laws their dictator,Santa Anna, made such as the laws of having no choice in goverment,no freedom of religon, and the law of having no slaves. The fight for their freedom is called the Texas Revolution.

• Settlers Come to Texas
  1821

  Settlers came to Texas when Mexico offered cheap land. Many settlers made the choice to take the offer and come to Texas.

• Lewis and Clark Expedition
  Jul 1, 1804

  After Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisianna Purchase he sent two army captains to explore the territory.They were Merriwhether Lewis and William Clark. Lewis and Clark, along with a lot of other helpers in the expedition, explored the Loisianna Purchase.Some of the other people who joined in on the expedition were Clark's slave,York,and an Indian women who joined them later in their expedition, Sacagawea.

• Louisianna Purchase
  1803

  Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisianna territory so the American people could trade with New Orleans.This also expanded America more to the west. Jefferson bought the land from the French for 15 million dollars.
