Lexington is the home of Stonewall Jackson and the location of Washington and Lee University. It is the final resting place of both great Confederate generals, Lee and Jackson.
The Battle at New Market was a Confederate victory that involved cadets from Virginia Military Institute.

Cold Harbor Battlefield
On this site, the Union and Confederacy fought a severe battle in June of 1864. The cries of the Union wounded could be heard in the night, bringing Union General Ulysses S. Grant to tears.
