  Was able to use my Spanish on a two week trip to an orphanage in Mexico

  I spent a month in Costa Rica practicing my Spanish language skills and conversational abilities.

• Learning Spanish
  Sep 9, 2002 to Jun 15, 2005

  In seventh grade I took my first Spanish class and was taught the basic vocabulary and grammar of Spanish. I continued learning basic Spanish in school through my Sophomore year of high school.

• Academic Language Development

  Upon entering kindergarten I could communicate effectively in conversational english, however it was in school that I developed my use of 'academic language.'

• Use of sounds and words
  Feb 22, 1990

  At about a year I was starting to put sounds together and make out my own words. I had now entered into the world of English Language speakers.

  Feb 22, 1989

  I started being exposed to language when I was born. When in my mother stomach I'm sure I could hear noises, but this was probably the first day my brain was exposed to spoken language
