Stars who have overcame eating disorders are now acting apon it, like Portia de Rossi who wrote a new book called "Unbearable lightness", Scarlett Johansen who speaks out against body image, or Top Model winner Whitney Thompson, (plus-size model to the left) who is know a spokesperson for NEDA.
The National Eating Disorder Association dedicated one week in February to raise awareness about girls being affected by eating disorders and the issues from the society. It stills goes on currently, feb. 21st-27th.
Many models and actress' were full and didn't have the need to look super skinny. Women who had that belief in that time period were Marilyn Monroe for example.
