Mustafa Kemal was a military officer during World War 1. He was a ottoman-turk. He hoped to transform the Ottoman Empire into a modernized nation. He defeat forces of the allies and began investing his time in the Ottoman Empire. In 1923 he had accomplished his mission and created a new, modern empire known as Turkey.
These groups wanted to defeat the Central Powers and bring World War 1 to an end. They signed a treaty that stated these groups would not fight within each other, and not nessasarily stand up for each other, but go up against the allies as one.
Before America had entered the war, the had hoped and done their best to remain neutral and stay out of the feud, allowing them to grow and prosper as a country. However, when an american ship was passing through Germany, Germans sunk it. This caused the Americans to join the war, as well as other events such as saturated propoganda in the United States.
Before this time period, nations in Europe and around the world had been working well together, until each country felt the need to have power over another. This led to conflict, and when Austria's prime minister Franz Ferdinand was murdered in Serbia, it gave the Austrians a reason to go to war in 1914. The was the start of World War 1.
By this time, the citizens of China needed change from the Qing dynasty. Many small cities had been going against the Qing and finally the empire was overthrown by the nationalists on October 1, 1911.
