Early Eighties M & M's Commercial
Long before the days of the creepy computer-generated candies, the candies come to us ON the computer. In this ad, I'm guessing the computer was just thrown in for novelty, since 1982 or so was the year that PCs came into use. Unfortunately, this stuff is now kitsch, like the iPod jokes on the Simpsons or excitement over TVs in that 1947 "Popeye" short.

Shoot the Boss and Start a Computer Repair Business (Part 1)
Get out from under the boss, do your own thing and start a business in IT. Never before, has it been so easy to go out and start a computer repair business. The "proof-of-the-pudding" is franchising! If someone is franchising an idea you can be certain ...it is an easy start-up. What the franchising people do is ...use an idea that is easy to transfer to others ...and provide the marketing expertise to create consistent profits. Today, it is possible for someone with a passionate interest in IT ...and without any formal training ...to go forth and offer a computer repair service. The business of repairing computers has changed dramatically over the last 10 to 20 years. For example in the old days ...in the 1980's computers were actually physically repaired. Today it has all changed. The skill part is still needed ...but the secret ingredient, unknown to 99.9% of the population is ...the training part that has been short circuited. By growing up with computers ...skills are naturally acquired by interested and involved people. I am not talking specifically about teenagers ...as we all had the opportunity to grow with computers in the 80s, 90s and beyond. By taking advantage of computer skills attained through work and play it is now possible for people to start a successful business in IT with a minimum of qualifications. Will this change in the future? Of course it will, but this opportunity is available ...right now. If you desperately want to get out ...from under the ...

This is another ad from Sedelmaier (the folks who brought us "Where's the Beef?"). It's not a particularly good ad, but it's for a wacky old computer and that's good enough. I don't remember the Kaypro brand, but I'm sure other folks on the Internet do.

Early 80's Pirate Computers
Check out the clip of the reporter interviewing Pete Perkins from the aptly name 'Honda Computers' who is an early pioneer of pirate hardware! He creates and sell's copies of Apples.... this was obviously filmed in a time before people cared about copyrights! He makes a fair point though, his machines are more than just copies. They are an improvment on the original allowing you to connect other homebrew hardware to them.... plus the fact that they were nearly half the price of their lesser-abled official version For more information please visit www.hack247.co.uk
