Question 1: What were the details of the event?
Nintendo is suing an online retailer because they have r4 chips that allow them to pirate DS software. NXPGAME was the company they went after, in result they tried to change there address and continue to sell, yet Nintendo found out. The r4 chips were ruled illegal and therefore they lost the lawsuit.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This was important to our industry because it helped stop people from stealing ideas from other companies and trying to make a profit for themselves.

Question 1: What were the details of the event?
Activision sued James R. Strickland for copyright infringement involving xbox 360's Call of Duty 3. It is said that he copied the game and then distributed it around. Activision wants $30,000 to $150,000 for each infringement.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This was important because for our industry making games and selling them is how we make money, someone else stealing a game and selling it is not right. This is big because it shows how some people get around to make money without their own ideas.

Question 1: What were the details of the event?
Football star Jim Brown from the Cleveland Browns filled a lawsuit against EA and Sony for showing a black muscular figure wearing the number 32, because he says that it resembled him and he never signed anything allowing them to use him in the game.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This was important because then it was made sure that everything was always legal with using peoples characteristics. EA
extended its authority of the use of the official NFL license through the year 2012.

Question 1: What were the details of the event?
It was said that the straps that come with the Wii motion remote were defective and could easily break, resulting in the remote being dropped. Nintendo has offered to replace broken straps with stronger material, but did note that there is nothing wrong with the remote and if the proper instructions are followed nothing should occur.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This was important because it showed a defect in the new and improving Nintendo Wii, yet Nintendo stuck behind their product and not recalling anything, meaning they survived the dispute.

Question 1: What were the details of the event?
In GTA: San Andreas there was a hidden "Hot Coffee" mini game that included sexual content. Even though Florence Cohen, the plaintiff, still bought the game for her daughter realizing the m rating and violent descriptors on the casing.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This was a major event in the game industry involving the sexual content. This was big because it showed that companies can hide things in their games. Also, many parents that bought the game did not know this and their kids were exposed.

Question 1: What were the details of the event?
A 17-year old girl filled a lawsuit against Topheavy Studios, Gather of Developers, Sony, and Microsoft for her topless appearance in the game The Guy Game. Pictures were taken of her while on Spring break and she was under the age of 18.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This was important because it is showing how much developers are going to using sexual features with games. It effects us because it puts bad names on the games and companies do foolish things to add to the games making people loose their jobs and have lawsuits created.

Marvel confirmed its lawsuit against the makers of City of Heros for trademark infringement. The game has the possibility of creating characters that are almost identical to Marvels comic books and you can even use their names, such as The Incredible Hulk.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This is important because it is a big hit on the industry. It goes against us as copying other ideas and stealing trademarks which is bad.

Question 1: What were the details of the event? 16-year old William and 14-year old Joshua Buckner opened fire with a .22 on interstate 40 in Tennessee killing one person and injuring someone else. After being questioned they answered saying they got bored and wanted to be like their favorite game Grand Theft Auto III. Take-Two was sued for the situation that happened.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This is important because then the GTA series could loose money and popularity. Having someone killed over a game is huge and everyone took notice of that. It gave that game a name and the company.

Question 1: What were the details of the event?
Singer Kirby believes that in Space Channel 5 Ulala resembles her with the looks and her name. Kirby's phrase Oh la la is just like Ulala. It is said that Sega offered her 16,000 dollars to use her information but she declined them, yet it was used anyway as it would seem.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This is important because it is major and many people can loose jobs. Companies will still use the information but change it around a little bit to save money. This proves a lot with these situations.

Question 1: What were the details of the event?
This company used Dave Mirra to sell this game after Dave and Acclaim both settled on him not being used. He first agreed on being apart of it until it turned pornographic, so he had a second meeting saying he would be taken out of the game, yet Acclaim did not live up to their word.
Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry?
This effected us as a company because it gave a bad name on not following agreements and doing what we want. In return business will be lost followed with other troubles such as this one.
