This was a Unionist party vanity project from the beginning, in conception when they were in power, and implementation when in opposition by collectively outvoting the minority SNP government in its first term. The project has subsequently descended into farce, but one that has wreaked untold damage on the economy and the image of the City of Edinburgh.

A group of tram enthusiasts and veterans from the days of Edinburgh's original tram network have visited the works and then been given a reception at the City's Council Chambers. Recorded before the decision to continue with the project, this reflects their desire to see a tram network completed in the City.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport has been following the progress the Edinburgh Tram Project with close interest. For some time, its members have wanted to visit the site to see for themselves what work has so far been carried out. They're concerned at the impact of recent disputes and are keen to see these resolved. This was a report on their visit to the control centre at Gogar on the West of Edinburgh

www.edinburghcavalcade.com Title of Video: Edinburgh Festival Cavalcade 2009 Fringe Performers & Cast of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo The Fringe Edinburgh Festival Cavalcade 2009 hit parade sees performers from all the Edinburgh Festivals parade through the city in an annual free to view city parade procession at the beginning of August. Performers include acts from the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh along with marching bands from community groups and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The parade begins with over a hundred motorbikes from the Harley Davidson Group followed by the cast of the Edinburgh Tattoo and then participants and community groups such as dragon chinese sights from the the City and beyond around the globe which totals in three thousand people taking part as particpants. The Parade parades festivals usually takes place on the first Sunday of the month, but in 2009 was scheduled for Sunday 9 August. There was a question mark over whether the event will go ahead in 2009 as the Edinburgh Tram Project workers were laying tracks on Princes Street - a main part of the route - from February to November. However, the event relocated to Holyrood Park which worked better for viewing points and space to enjoy picnics and other games with families while performers parade the day.
