1,200 minutemen were stationed at Bunker Hill near Boston and were low on ammo. Even though the British won the battle they had 1000 wounded or dead. That's when the British realized the war would not be easy.
The British came to take away the weapons from local militias. The militias were alerted and two battles were fought, one at Lexington which the British won and another at Concord where the Americans won.
