Ok, so the last few days have been fun. I procrastinated doing work til friday, and did some fun stuff in the meantime. Well, I also fixed Ilyaz's computer, and thursday I didn't end up going to their house for some reason. I get to go tomorrow. A thousand yay's yay! lol, Not really that big of a deal but I thought I'd bring it up for historical purposes. I also got smb sharing working on my local network. To make a long story short, it turned out to be windows 7 fault. I can't seem to mass share a drive. I have to manually share each folder I want. So far, it looks like it just didn't like the directory with the exclamation mark in it, but I don't know anymore. The mac is getting more confortable for me. It's deffinitly got an interesting terminal window. It's interesting how you can read the terminal back natively, kind of coolAt some point soon I'm going to throw up another music post. Honestly with the scene the way it is right now, I doubt hands up will play a huge roll init.So, if you've been reading around, future trance is being seriously changed again. It sounds from the reports on EA music discussion forums that they are focusing on more pop remixes. That means less mainstream ish hands up being included on the compilation.projectsIs this the end of hands up?Since 2007 people would talk about producing for these big comps. Hey people. My mac book had to go back for replacement of the screen. I think I talked about it here, but yeah hopefully that won't happen again. Seriously, so glad to have this back. IJournal is just so nice to write in, since it's fully featured without any access issues. Kinda nice. I've gotta try a few things over the reading break, such as open office, find a accessible facebook client for everyting but chat, etc. Fun times ahead. Must do a little work before monday, though, such as more comp125 assignment 2. I'd also love to finish my philosiphy essay, but I'll see what happens in terms of my great procrastination skills.

So, asides from my friends only post, which friends should definitely check out, I haven't been up to much, though I have. On Thursday night I think I broke my mac book screen by accident. Guess I'll never leave it open on the couch again. :P It's an expensive lesson though, will probably have to pay 600 for it. There's ways it could be done cheaper, but at this point I just want the thing to work. I swear, I'm not that careless I just didn't expect that to happen lol! Hey peoples, just writing an update here. Lately, I've been helping people with computer stuff, and I had been helping josh when I was contacted by a friend to help them out. They offered to pay me, so I am happy about that. It can help me pay for my macbook! lol anyway, so I went their today. I didn't really know what to expect because I was hearing conflicting stories, though I didn't worry to much about it. Others were telling me how hard he was to work with etc, but all I saw was someone wanting to learn and become more independent. It's a sharp turn from what I've been dealing with lately. O, secret under thoughts. Anyway, so today I went to their house to get aquanted. Very nice family. Kind of outrageous that kids are still not using laptops and technology in school the way they want in this district. Its crazy. If vision teachers only knew how much more a blind person has to learn, they'd understand why free learning environments around technology is a must. I think the whole system has to change, because it's not like a set bc machine should be used for this kind of learning. So, back to the subject, Ilyaz. He's a very smart kid, and I think he has the ability to be as proficient as I am. Honestly, I have thought that about everyone I taught , even Maria. It's just some people have "it", and some don't. Its kind of hard to explain, because I don't think it's a lack of intellect, but it's just a difference in how their brain works, or maybe they learn a different way; I don't think I could fully answer why some people get it, and some don't.So, I get there, and he wants me to install jaws, but that machine started acting weird, breaking the wireless connection, so no internet! Yay. So, then I get on his dad's machine, and the thing has this really unstandard keyboard. It looks like a midrange acer, or something. Actually I know it's acer, but yeah. It's an interesting situation, because the dad also wants to learn at the same time. His intentions are justified though. He wants to be able to help him. I think he's semi proficient with technology already, but he just wants to learn jfw keyboard control as well, so he can use the best of both worlds or something like that. Anyway, I have Ilyaz's laptop, and at some point, I plan to go through it and see what could be causing the problems, but I predict a format in that machines immediate future.Tonight I'm going out withdaniellefouldsand bryan to pasta polos. They have wireless, so I will do something nerdy there, maybe tweet. :D , or look up driving directions. So, I am back again. I'm using a mac. O yeah. Basically it was an aexcuse to reinstalll a livejournal client, and this thing does everything. So, I may post from time to time. Hey guys, I got a mac. It's a fun machine. THe commands and stuff are totaly different but it's not imposible.A lot of apps that aren't accessible on the windows side are accessible on the mac, so fun times for me. There's some real anoying things, such as no keystroke to unmute speech. Kind of stupid that you have to rely on touch pad router just to unmute speech, if you don't have sited help. Seriously apple, put a keystroke. Very anoying when you wake up and are doing a demo of voiceover on team talk and the god damn speech stops and the only solutions eather require touch pad commands to work, which didn't randomly even though trackpad commander is on. The keyboard is a tried and tested input method. Support But seriously I use my mac mostly for IM and twitter. It's much better especially for IM. Adium is amazing compared to the solution I use on the pc. General screen reader performance is a bit slower then jaws, but it kind of makes up for it in the way you navigate around the screen, if you know the interface it's easy to get used to an interface.

So here I am,after 7 weeks of not updating aparrently. Schools going ok. I don't think I"ll get through my math thing until the first week of the next summester, which kind of puts my plans off, but if they offer a summer half term class, I may catch up then. It all depends how many courses I have to do. Have a feeling that no matter what I'll be fine anyways. This time, I seriously plan to update more often, seriously. We'll see though. I think there's an accessible symbian lj client, so I could post random crappy entries while listening to UK hardcore on teh way home from Uni. Wouldn't that be fun? I think so! Anyways: I've started thinking about this years compilations. You can probably see the announcement from last year on the second page, I've blogged so little in 2009, but whatever. Well today was an incredibly hot day. Now you know one of us can spell incredibly correctly. Don't you feel ever so much better?Anyways, today was hot. I woke up earlier then usual and it was colder at first, but my god, did the temp ever catch up with me. I just couldn't stay inside all day, hence why I went swimming for like 2 hours. Not my record, but seriously needed. I was kind of playing with the new version of fring for the e71, so for all you nerd friends it wasn't like it was a waste of my time, I mean really... Got a call from james letting me know of a certain problem , which kind of made me have to go inside, but once that was delt with, I almost went back in the pool. That's when danielle called me and I went over there instead. BBQ burgers and fries and epic salad! I love summer, seriously. Then, we continued our quest to get Bryan to buy into, I mean purchase the e71 , since it's the best 3g smartphone ever and you all know it, even if you are an iPhone/pom pre fanboy[bryan, I'm @looking at you!]. Danielle even scammed me into video calling her for like 5 minutes. Thanks for the dollar fifty charge on my phone bill, danielle, maybe you'll think about this when I make you pay for lunch or dinner or drinks! THen we went for ice cream. Got something a little more traditional. Strawberry with real strawberries in it. IT was meh, because they used frozen strawberries. Kinda lame. Would have been better if I did it with rasberries or blueberries. They're both better frozen IMPO. They didn't have Banana. Basterds. I mean I wasn't planing on getting it really, but it's still their fault! Maybe things would have been different if I had the option! Maybe I should write a fiction press story about it.

I don't really have much to say, but school is almost over. Life is good overall, and this sums up what's recently happend to me. I went to Armin Van Buuren on april 8th at the comidore mind the spelling. Ok, so I decided to write a series entry after all. So, here goes nothing. A few weeks ago Jameshttp://www.twitter.com/jamesscholes installed windows seven on his net book. It ran relatively well with jaws, and after getting a little jellus I decided to run through the installation on the laptop. I just shrunk my xp partition and re-allocated the unallocated space to a smaller partition for seven. I can access the files from the other one in seven and vies versa. I forget the size I made the partition, but I think 50GB is the correct number. So I start the install from windows, and it looks pretty standard installation wise most of the dialogues look similar to the vista beta I installed using this method 3 years ago. I won't tell you about the time it failed, because I think that was blue screen related, but the second time through the installation finished without a hitch and I was in seven. I started up narrator after the machine rebooted twice, and ran through making a user account. Now, I don't know if this is a bug, or a accessibility issue, but on both my machines I had to create two user accounts no matter what. It was annoying, but after it would finally boot into windows, but no matter what I did, it would force creation of another user account . Annoying. Anyways I can del the second account and it auto logs into windows unlike xp. So, afterwards I used narrator to get jaws. I think I just used my new flash drive to copy the file over. I didn't bother going to the web. On that note, does anyone know if seven is considered a home or pro operating system? Jaws performance is amazing. I don't know if it's due to the windows explorer scripts not being loaded, but performance is amazing fast. I will never go back to xp ever again.Now, to my one complaint, drivers. The laptop absolutely nothing went wrong because it was a vista laptop. O by the way, seven runs much better on vista capable hardware then vista ever did. Seven is IMO a glorified vista. A week later I was bored and wanted to see how seven performed on my pc's better hardware. So, I ran through the installation again. Both my onboard, and my creative sound blaster xfi xtreme audio or xfi-xtreme audio whatever you want to call it failed to install, however there is some unofficial drivers made by someone on the creative labs forums that work for the creative xfi xtreme audio pci express card I have. For those who are interested, this is a little difficult to find so...Windows 7 & Xtreme Audio PCI causes BSoD while installing driver software - Sound Blaster - Creative Labs">read through this thred to find the download As an added benefit to those drivers, synthesized speech sounds normal, so even though they're not thx approved or whatever the card claims it's awesome for, synthed speech doesn't sound like your running it on an icon.Once my sound was fixed, I started installing applications. The only program I really had any sort of issue with was Skype. All other progs seemed to install and work just fine. Nod32, and AVG both work great so you can use the popular security suites probably without any problems I would think. Foobar2000 also works as expected thank god, I can't go back to winamp.Windows explorer is actually more intuitive IMPO in its new form only because of the speed in which it loads folders. There's some focus issues due to probably missing scripted support in open file dialogues where jaws will refocus to the file name edit field, but other than that it works very well.UAC is amazing. There's four different levels. I haven't explored exactly what the differences are, but one of them doesn't take total control of your computer for 30 seconds which is nice, so UAC becomes very usable.Twitter clients twitterliscious and win2twit work very well, and the twitter gadget gadget is an workable replacement for those clients.new taskbar is a little messy accessibility wise. Open programs are not read by jaws when harrowing through taskbar. Applications you place there when closed are workable. Jaws related, Insert f10 works for the running programs though which helps. Insert f11 for system doesn't. Windows B and windows T still work for jumping around though. The system trey has seriously been improved IMPO. You can choose in taskbar and start menu the visibility of systrey items, so your systrey doesn't have 3210000 items in it. Takes some getting used to, but definitely an improvement from xp.Libraries are annoying. I haven't really played with them, but when click name on start menu it opens libraries instead of C:\users\Yourusername? Why the hell did they make that change, can someone explain that!I don't know what else to say , but leave a comment if your blind and really need to know something about seven that you haven't been able to find info for and I'll see what I can do.

O my god I'm writing a post! But I've made my lj client start up when my computer does, so hopefully you will see more entries from me. One track really stands out as needing to be either right at the beginning first track, or on cd1 somehow. Most likely will stay on cd2 though. It's my compilation I will do what I want to.Anyways I hope this entry was everything you were dreaming for! lol, but I recently switched to foobar2000. It's awesome, it has a much better dsp stacker and the sound touch pitch/tempo/speed bender plug-in makes very clean sound compared to all the dsp's I tried for winamp. Antialiasing ftw. Also, the library really auto updates, not the "I might update" that all other media players do. It's real time like a library should be.Anyways let’s see if the thing actually does what it's supposed to.
