At 10:55am local time two missiles hit Kauda region. No injuries or deaths were reported. This is now the 10th missile that has the Kauda region since November. The missiles first explode in the air before hitting the ground and then a very loud explosion as they hit the ground.
The UN received unconfirmed reports of gunfire between Sudanese forces and the SPLM-N in Salak (10km east of Bout, El Tadamun locality).

As of December 15th, the UN estimated that
- 66,000 civilians from Blue Nile and 300,000 from South Kordofan have been displaced or are severely affected by conflict
- 20,000 civilians from South Kordofan and 30,000 civilians from Blue Nile have fled to South Sudan
- An additional 33,000 civilians from Blue Nile have fled to Ethiopia

On December 8, 2011 the Government of Sudan bombarded the region of Kauda at two different times. 1st - At 3:00am an Antonov airplane was heard flying over Kauda and it dropped 7 bombs that all exploded in and around the market of Kauda. 10 people were wounded, 5 of which are seriously injured. In addition 14 cows, 3 goats and 1 donkey were killed by the bombing. All people who were wounded by the bombing were civilians and there were no soldiers or military targets near the site of impact. This bombing was at night and caught people by surprise as they were not able to take cover from the bombs. 2nd - Dec 8, 2011 at 5:00pm 3 rockets hit just north of Kauda. The origin of the rockets is unknown. 2 of the rockets exploded on impact while the other rocket did not explode. Two people were injured by the explosion. 45 year old Woman named Galitia and a young girl named Kaka age 8.
On December 7th the UN estimated that:
- 38,000 civilians from Blue Nile fled to Ethiopia
- 200,000 civilians from South Kordofan and 66,000 from Blue Nile have been displaced or severely affected by conflict
- 23,000 civilians from South Kordofan and 21,000 civilians from Blue Nile have fled to South Sudan

In Blue Nile State, landmines remain a serious concern for civilians and on December 4th an antitank landmine exploded under a truck injuring seven people in Fadmiya

The SAF and South Sudan army clashed in the town of Jau. The South claims that Sudan invaded it's territory while Sudan maintains that Jau is part of South Kordofan state.

SAF troops attacked a small force of SPLA-N in the village of El Dar and then moved to Torogi. On December 2, 2011 reinforcements of SPLA-N arrived in Torogi and clashed with the SAF in both Torogi and El Dar.
Two days after bombing a refugee site across the border of Blue Nile, Bashir's forces bombed Yida refugee camp in South Sudan where over 30,000 civilians from South Kordofan had fled.

The Sudanese Army captured the town of Kurmuk, the last major rebel holdout in Blue Nile. Fighting in Blue Nile has displaced an estimated 96,000 civilians.

There have been reports of an ambush carried out by SPLA-N forces on the road between Agadi and But, some 40 km west of Ed Damazine, which resulted in many casualties.

There were reports that a Mig fighter jet dropped bombs between the villages of Sabat and Tujur in Delami County. The bombs hit near a location where many IDPs had been gathering from the surrounding areas to take refuge in the mountains.
The SAF dropped two bombs from Antonov planes between 2-3pm at Tongoli village in Delami County.
5 Bombs dropped by Antonov Plane killing 5 civilians including a 12 and 13 year old boy, 22 year old man named Janjawied, and 41 year disabled old man named Nattat who was using a wheel chair to move around. When the bomb landed near him a piece of shrapnel cut off his head.
Reports were received of continued aerial bombardment in SPLM-N areas of South Kordofan on September 26 and 27

It has been reported that 36 villages were bombed in Nuba on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011. This report is Heiban which was one of the villages bombed. On Sept. 25, 2011 at 11:15 am, three Mig fighter jets flew into Heiban Valley dropping 6 bombs in the village of Dulee just south of Heiban town. The forth bomb the SAF dropped landed in Hanan Jakasa's farm, destroying her crops. Hanan is the mother of four children. Hanan said, "I thank God because I was in my house with the children when the plane came." If Hanan or one of her children were farming in the field at that very moment one of them could have been fatally wounded or killed.
At 11AM an Antonov dropped several bombs on the village of Tongoli injuring 4 year old Makaele and 14 year old Samuel and killing their 65 year old grandmother.
The Sudanese Armed Forces bombed the city of Kurmuk on September 24th and 25th.

An aircraft dropped four bombs in the vicinity of the UNMIS camp in Kauda, Heiban locality damaging UN facilities.
According to local sources three of the bombs hit planting fields destroying most the crops, injuring two women including Shadiya Idries, and a young man named Ali Mohammed.
One of the bombs destroyed a house and another landed near the Kauda air strip where a UN helicopter was located at the time of the bombing.

Four bombs were reportedly dropped near Kurmuk town.
8,000 people have been newly displaced in South Kordofan. This includes some 3,000 people who came from Morong to Arregebat in Talodi locality, and another 5,000 who came from Tayomi, Abu Alhassan and Alusha Abdalla to Al Fashaia, Al Faid, Abu Karshola and Tarawa in Rashad locality.

SAF soldiers entered the UNICEF compound in Ed Damazine and seized some communications, safety, and security equipment, and one INGO had its office broken into and looted in Ed Damazine town.

Reliable sources in the town of Kauda told the Enough Project that they identified a Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) Antonov bomber flying south in the direction of the town of Ungarto. Then they heard heavy shelling and aerial bombardment around Ungarto, which SAF soldiers reportedly took control of.

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir declared a two week ceasefire in South Kordofan which has faced nearly three months of conflict causing over 200,000 to flee their homes. Bashir also announced that no foreign organizations would be allowed to operate in South Kordofan, forcing out the two remaining NGOs that had gained permission to operate in South Kordofan.

A joint assessment mission by 6 UN humanitarian agencies set off from Khartoum to South Kordofan to assess the humanitarian needs and possibilities of replenishing humanitarian stocks in specific locations. However, on arrival in South Kordofan state local authorities informed the team that they would not be able to carry out their assessment and the organizations were forced out.
