The peace Conference was the meeting of the Allied victors of the following World War 1, to set the peace terms for Germany and other defeated nations, and to deal with the empires of the defeated powers following the Armistice of 1918.
The final Allied push towards the German border began on October 17, 1918. As the British, French and American armies advanced, the alliance between the Central Powers began to collapse. Turkey signed an armistice at the end of Oct, Austria Hungary followed on Nov, 3.
On April 2, 1917 President Woodrow Wilson asked Congress for a declaration of war against Germany.
On Aripl 6, 1917 congress granted the request and the United States was formally at war with Germany
The Battle of the Somme is famous chiefly on acount of the loss of 58,000 British troop on the first day of the battle, 1 July 1916, which to this day remains a one-day record.
The greatest naval battle of the first World War. Jutland had all the ingredients to be a great British naval victory, but in the event the result was much less clear-cut.
