  Following the Commission's " An EU strategy for better ship dismantling", the European Parliament makes some recommendations, and calls on the Commission to propose solutions beyond the "regrettably weak remedies of the IMO" and that "safeguard the effective implementation of the Waste Shipments Regulation". The EU Parliament also calls on the Commission for an "explicit prohibition on beaching".
