• battle at palmito
  May 13, 1865

  At dawn the Confederates advanced, initially gaining ground against Sheridan’s cavalry. The arrival of Union infantry, however, stopped the advance in its tracks. Lee’s army was now surrounded on three sides.

  May 22, 1864

  confederates were growing desparate. Confederates won by 9,000 men attacking.

  General Lees objective was to envade the north. union won this battle.

• Battle of Galveston
  Jan 1, 1863

  Confederacy attacked Union. Union released ships that were captured. Confederacy.

• Battle of Fort Sumter
  Apr 12, 1861

  The Battle of Fort Sumter is what started the american civil war. Fallowing the Battle, President Lincoln called for 75,000 volinters to supressRebellion. The result of the Rebellion was 4 states to secde and join the confederacy.

• Texas secession convention
  Jan 28, 1861

  The convention was held to consider secession from union. Sam Houston called for a secession. He hoped it would call the convention illegal.
