Members of Stony Point staged a protest in Ipperwash on September 4,1995. In 1928 Stony Point First Nation sold 153 hectares of land back to Provincial park. The land was later taken by the government during World War 2 for a military training camp. They offered $50,000 in exchange for use of land. In 1995 30 protesters set up barriers blacking the entrance to the park. They attempted to regain land and protect buried grounds.The police soon ccame to break up the protest. Protester Dudley George was shot and killed.
October 15,1954 a Hurricane struck Toronto. It had started in Caribbean and ran up to Alantic coast of US. It was classified a hurricane after it passed New York. The Hurricane had hit Toronto with winds up to 110km adn 11inches of water. It had killed 81 people and left 1,000 homeless.They were forced to changet he way they handled floods.
In 1814 they decided to reunite Upper and Lower anada. The British North America act was passed in 1867. It seperated Candada into 2 provinces, Ontario and Quebec. Dominion began expanding it's borders by purchasing ruperts land. Railways were built and brought many people to Ontario.
JUne 18,1812 the USA declared wor on their country the Great Britain. Ther attempt was to weaken British control in North America. The USA won the battle on October 5,1813. They traded victories for a year until the leaders signed the Treaty of Ghent.
In the Upper Canada 17 year old Eteinne Brule settled in the Great Lakes region in 1610.In 1670 the Hudson Bay camp was established. The two nations fought of the fur trade for seven years. Finally in 1763 france lost war.
