  Denbow met his wife while she was on an MSU study abroad trip and he was doing work for Pennsylvania State University. In the spring of 1972, the two were married in Yugoslavia.

  From 1971 until 1978, Denbow was the Writer-Editor in the News Bureau for the Office of Public Information and Relations at Pennsylvania State University.
