Started from the ranger station at Abram's Creek in Happy Valley. The first couple of photos were taken on Rabbit Creek Trail. I then cut over on Hatcher Mountain Trail (an easy hike, but you will pay for it crossing the stream)and then on towards Abrams FallsTrail. Word of advice, take the long way back and avoid Little Bottom Trail, every time I take that trail, I run into a rattle snake. Total of 14 miles. A bit longer if you avoid Little Bottom Trail on the way back.

The long, deep pool at its base is very picturesque. The waterfall and creek are named for Cherokee Chief Abram or Abraham whose village once stood several miles downstream. The trail to the falls traverses pine-oak forest on the ridges and hemlock and rhododendron forest along the creek. The hike is 5 miles roundtrip and considered moderate in difficulty. Due to strong currents and an undertow, swimming in the pool at the base of the falls is extremely dangerous. Access trail: Abrams Falls Trailhead: The turnoff for the trailhead is located past stop #10 on the Cades Cove Loop Road. The turnoff is signed.

I am going to Abrams falls a 5 mile round trip hike. The trail has alot of adult and children traffic and thats what I am hoping for. On this exp I am working off the curiosity tendencies of BF and the fact there will be lots of kids making noises on the trail. I have not reviewed these clips either, will do when I get the time.

This is about the most water I have ever seen come over Abrams Falls. It is do to a very wet spring this year.
