On November 6, 2008, a single driver on US Highway 98 caused an accident near Catamaran Drive in Navarre that wrecked five other cars and his car-and sent six people to the hospital. Less than a month before that, on the same highway, an Okaloosa County school bus was rear-ended on October 14 by an SUV. The driver of the SUV was killed. On November 9, 2008, a Texas man lost control of his car on I-10 near DeFuniak Springs. The Texas man died at the scene, and the accident sent the innocent occupants of another car to the hospital in serious condition. This storm caused a 69-car accident on the I-10 in downtown Phoenix!
This is a video log of our 2009 Hyundai i10 that has an intermittent horn (defective horn button or switch?). On this video, you can see that I am pressing the horn button many times. But, there is no sound. This is actually dangerous, especially if you're maneuvering in traffic or fast approaching an intersection, if that horn did not work, you might catch yourself into an accident. The weird thing about this is, we bought the i10 last Sept 2009. And, we noticed this around March 2010? And posted this video finally around July or Aug 2010. NO MODIFICATIONS WERE DONE ON THE i10. Fatality accident occurred as driver was eastbound on Katy Freeway and attempted to exit Taylor at the last second while crossing several lanes of traffic to do so and slamming into the guardrail.

On Thursday night, January 21, 2010, a motorcycle accident occurred on I-10 West near the Sjolander Road exit. The male driver of the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

It was raining so hard you couldn't see pass the windshield. I must have seen 15 cars in the ditch and 3 bad wrecks within 60 miles . One wreck had the 18 wheeler rear axle completely parted from the trailer.... crazy stuff
BAYTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE During the evening and nighttime hours of Tuesday September 30, 2009 the Baytown Police Department responded to several major crashes involving motor vehicles. 2009-40777 The first crash occurred just after 8:00 pm and officers arrived to find an 18 wheeler had left the main slab of I-10 while traveling west and struck approximately seven vehicles at Community Toyota, located in the 4700 Block of I-10 West. It is unknown exactly how much damage was caused by the 18 wheeler and police are still investigating to determine exactly what happened. The driver of the 18 wheeler was taken to Memorial Herman Hospital by Life Flight for treatment of his injuries and his current condition is unknown at this time. 2009-40800 The second crash occurred just after midnight and officers arrived to find the apparent victim of a motorcycle crash lying in the middle of the entrance ramp of westbound I-10 near North Main Street. The driver of the motorcycle was later taken to Memorial Herman Hospital by Life Flight for treatment of his injuries and his current condition is unknown at this time. Major Accident on I-10 East --07/27/09 in Baytown, Texas
Accident on side of road with a motorcycle and car, injuries involved.
Two very similiar vehicular accidents occurred on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in Baytown, Texas. In both accidents, the driver rear-ended the vehicle in front of it. The first accident occurred on the feeder road of the North Main Street exit and I-10. The pregnant female driver of the car that was rear-ended was treated by EMS at the scene. The second accident occurred minutes later on Massey Tompkins. A car rear-ended a truck. The car sustained significant damage, but all the occupants were okay. In this video, the drivers tell what happened. Remember the general driving rule to keep one car distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you.

I was driving back to Austin when I saw this. The plume of smoke was visible for miles away. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but to me it looked like a car (maybe two) traveling East on I-10 between San Antonio & Houston crashed through the barrier on the left side of the road and either exploded or caught on fire. My Mesa 533 bus I take home today was delayed when one of those 'think they are all bad' Valley Metro Rapid buses tried to pass the bus up but got stuck. And got about 4 or 5 other express buses stuck behind it. Then a light rail train. Gees!
I-10 downtown Mobile, Alabama. This container had somehow become free of its locks and hopped off of the Trailer. leaving it in the middle of the interstate. Another scary thing to happen upon, Going 70 miles per hour.
Driving west on I-10 from Florida into Alabama, I came upon this accident, Apparently the driver had not locked his axles in place and the Trailer lost them, Leaving it to Skid down the road. I can only imagine what it would have been like to see two semi axles rolling free down the interstate at 70 miles per hour.

On way home from California July 22, 2008 I-10 freeway between Palm Springs and Blythe "no where". A man in a Uhaul flipped over in front of us due to one tire blowing out appx speed 90 MPH.
Comments Front impact The passenger compartment remained stable in the impact. Protection of the driver's chest was rated as weak owing to the extent to which it was compressed during the test. Structures in the dashboard presented a risk of injury to the knees and femurs of the front seat passengers. Side impact A head-protecting airbag is not available for the i10 so no pole test was performed. Child-protection Based on the dummy response in the dynamic tests, the i10 scored maximum points for its protection of the 3 year dummy. The passenger airbag can be deactivated by means of a switch, allowing a rearward-facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. However, information provdided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag is not sufficiently clear. No clear warning is given of the dangers of using a rearward facing child seat in that seat without first disabling the airbag. The presence of ISOFIX and top-tether anchorages in the rear outboard seats was not clearly marked. Pedestrian protection The bumper scored maximum points for the protection it offered pedestrians' legs. However, the front edge of the bonnet offered poor protection.
