The silver TL SH-AWD 6MT was equipped with Michelin Alpin snow tires, and the dark colored TL SH-AWD shown later in the video was equipped with standard OEM all-season tires.
Here's the Acura commercial "Exclamation" for the 2010 Acura ZDX. Test drive and walkaround of a 2001 Acura Integra Type R with Chris from Chicago Cars Direct. Powered by the frantic B18C5 VTEC four cylinder engine, Honda managed to crank 195 hp out of a tiny 1.8 liters, at an impressive 108.5 horses per liter - a naturally-aspirated ratio bettered only by Honda's own S2000. All this power comes on at a skyhigh 8000 rpm, while the engine redlines at an insane 8400 rpm. Lots of power, and fuel economy is more like that of an economy car than a full-blown sports car. But the weak point of the engine is too obvious to ignore. With a peak torque figure of only 130 lb-ft, it would have been an issue on the dragstrip had the car not weighed in at only 2600 lbs. The problem is compounded by the fact that the torque peaks at a massive 7500 rpm, thereby making the Type-R no better than a basic Civic at low revs. To put it in perspective, even the new 140 hp Saturn Ion makes more torque, at 145 lb-ft. The Type-R uses a highly-tuned version of the GS-R engine. The notorious Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control system, or VTEC, came about from Honda's Formula 1 racing experience back in the 80s. The VTEC system uses three cam lobes and three rocker arms for each pair of valves, operating on both the intake and exhaust valves. The two outer cam lobes settings optimize low-speed torque and response while the middle lobe has a high-lift, longer-duration setting that optimizes high-end horsepower. The changeover between low lift and high ...

FOR ACURA TSX FULL TEST @ INSIDELINE.COM: www.edmunds.com The 2010 Acura TSX V6 is really an American car. It's so American that it works better with a 3.5-liter V6 engine than it does with its 2.4-liter inline-4, which is kind of a surprise for a car that comes from Honda by way of its premium car division. Yet the addition of the V6 seems to make a huge difference in the TSX, a makeover both mechanical and conceptual for this sport sedan, which has seemed kind of underwhelming since the 2009 Acura TSX with its inline-4 engine first came to us late last year. No Japanese company has worked as hard as Honda to make itself over as an American outfit. Honda has lots of assembly factories in the US just like every other Japanese-label company, but a huge part of the company's engineering brain trust is here as well. You'll find most of it in Ohio, which Soichiro Honda himself picked as the site of his American industrial base because of the profound respect he had for the quality of the American machine tools he bought from the region for his little motorcycle company during the 1950s. So maybe it's no surprise that the 2010 Acura TSX V6 is the most American of the cars from Honda.

FOR PRICING & SPECS ON THIS CAR VISIT: www.kbb.com 2009 Acura TL. The styling of the Acura TL may not appeal to everyone but we think most buyers will appreciate the improved interior space, comfort and advanced technology of the latest generation. To meet the varying needs of customers, the TL is offered in two flavors, a front-wheel-drive base model and a sportier all-wheel-drive model. The BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class still dominate the class, but compelling content and good value may encourage customers to give the Acura TL a second look. FOR MORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS VISIT: www.kbb.com 2009 Acura TSX. The Acura TSX has made a name for itself as a svelte, sensible entry-level luxury sedan with nimble handling and a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine. Now in its second generation, the TSX gains some size and weight, but keeps the economical four-cylinder power. With a larger footprint and a more luxurious interior, the TSX has moved slightly upmarket. Despite the larger dimensions, the TSX is still fun to drive and fuel economy actually improves. The TSX remains an excellent choice for buyers who want an affordable luxury car that is also affordable at the pump. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit www.kbb.com today.
MotorWeek Road Test: 2009 Acura TL
More info on the Acura TL: www.myride.com The 2009 Acura TL scraps the safe approach to style and races onto the streets with greater exterior dimensions, a wider track for improved stability, a bit more interior room, a more powerful base engine, and, oh yeah, a 305-horsepower all-wheel-drive model firmly attempts to stamp the notion of Acura performance into the populace's vernacular. Check out more on www.myride.com
CHECK OUT THE NEW ACURA TL: www.edmunds.com As we hammer the 2009 Acura TL down some of Malibu's most challenging canyon roads, the big sedan is handling itself well. It carries enough speed through the corners to make us a little nervous, but the lack of tire squeal makes it clear that we're far from pushing its limits. Jamming this TL into a hairpin doesn't upset it either. The brakes scrub off plenty of speed and the transmission executes perfect, rev-matched downshifts. When we flat foot the throttle on the way out, the newly optional Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system puts down all 305 horsepower of the 3.7-liter V6 to the pavement without a single chirp of the tires. When we finally hit leisurely traffic on Pacific Coast Highway, the TL returns to luxury sedan mode. The cabin goes silent, the transmission smoothly sifts through the gears and the suspension soaks up everything short of a sinkhole. We're not surprised, as this is the classic Acura formula — admirable performance coupled with high-tech luxury, and now the TL has a little more of both.
FOR MORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS CHECK OUT: www.kbb.com The premium-badged 2008 Acura RDX, combining sport sedan-like power and handling with the cargo versatility, high seating position and all-wheel-drive capability of an SUV, boasts a full arsenal of appeal. Upon its introduction for the 2007 model year the RDX's only true competitor was the BMW X3, a vehicle that essentially had the compact premium SUV segment all to itself since its introduction for the 2004 model year. With new and upcoming entries from Audi, Infiniti, Mercedes and others, buyers will benefit from even more options. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit www.kbb.com today.
FOR MORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS CHECK OUT www.kbb.com Acura MDX. Since its introduction in 2001 the Acura MDX has received acclaim for its comfortable ride, respectable off-pavement capability and manageable size, while the criticism revolved around its generic styling. For the second-generation MDX, Acura kicked the styling up a notch while at the same time improving on-road performance with forward-thinking technology. Like its predecessor, the seven-passenger MDX remains a family-friendly SUV, but a new 300-horsepower V6 and bold, angular design add a feeling of aggression that wasn't present before. www.kbb.com Is it possible for a front-wheel-drive car to compete in the largely rear-drive premium performance sedan category? Absolutely, according to Acura, and America seems to agree, making the TL a top selling luxury sedan and Acura's most popular model. In an attempt to meet the divergent needs of luxury sedan owners, the Acura TL comes in two distinct flavors. Those most interested in comfort can choose the regular TL while the Type-S meets the needs of drivers who want a higher level of driving excitement. Bose versions are based on the ubiquitous Honda Accord sedan. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit kbb.com today.
FOR MORE ABOUT THE ACURA NSX SPY VIDEO: www.edmunds.com The latest prototype of the 2011 Acura NSX has finally hit the Nürburgring and it's looking — and sounding — better than ever. Unlike the previous prototypes — which were nothing more than cobbled-together test mules built from the S2000 platform — this NSX has bodywork that looks close to production specification. Although the design of the original concept didn't get favorable reviews, it appears as though Acura has stuck with similar styling for the production car. Instead of going for an all-out sports car, Acura is aiming for high-end GTs instead. Think Aston Martin DB9, not Nissan GT-R. As a result, Acura has abandoned its former midengine concept and adopted a traditional front-engine 2+2 layout. The company is after prestige, not just speed. That said, the 2011 Acura NSX is still expected to offer supercar performance. According to our sources in Japan, Takeo Fukui, Honda's CEO, has tasked his R&D team with building an NSX that's faster around the Nürburgring than both the 2009 Nissan GT-R and the upcoming Lexus LF-A. Sounds optimistic, but according to our shooters Honda is already close to its goal. One hand timed lap came in at 7:37, just 8 seconds longer than the GT-R's fastest lap. Not bad considering that this was Honda's first trip to the Nürburgring with this prototype. Credit the NSX's formidable new power plant, a 5.5-liter V10 with as much as 550 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The engine ...
