This is a picture tribute for Agnes Moorehead--my favorite of all--to mark her birthday, Dec. 6. I hope it's enjoyed. I recently rediscovered this childhood tune here on YouTube from the animation "The Snowman". It gives me feelings of Christmas and winter and it has a haunting quality. I love it. The original, containing the words, can be heard here: www.youtube.com Many of the pictures I used come from www.agnesmoorehead.org . If anyone has even a small curiosity about Agnes Moorehead and her career, this is the most comprehensive site that can be found.

Agnes Robertson Moorehead (December 6, 1900 -- April 30, 1974) was an American actress. Although she began with the Mercury Theatre, appeared in more than seventy films beginning with Citizen Kane and on dozens of television shows during a career that spanned more than thirty years, Moorehead is most widely known to modern audiences for her role as the witch Endora in the series Bewitched. While rarely playing leads in films, Moorehead`s skill at character development and range earned her one Emmy Award and two Golden Globe awards in addition to four Academy Award and six Emmy Award nominations. Moorehead`s transition to television won acclaim for drama and comedy. She could play many different types, but often portrayed haughty, arrogant characters. Moorehead was born in Clinton, Massachusetts, of English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh ancestry, to a Presbyterian clergyman, John Henderson Moorehead, and his wife, the former Mildred McCauley, who had been a singer. Moorehead later shaved six years off her age by claiming to have been born in 1906. Moorehead recalled her first public performance was at the age of three, reciting "The Lord`s Prayer" in her father`s church. The family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and Moorehead`s ambition to become an actress grew "very strong". Moorehead received six Emmy Award nominations, but was quick to remind interviewers that she had enjoyed a long and distinguished career. Despite her ambivalence, she remained with Bewitched until its ...

Shortly after opening on Broadway in the musical Gigi, Agnes appeared as the mystery guest on the episode of What's My Line? Broadcast November 23, 1973. Personally I think Agnes made it too easy for the panel. She didn't disguise her distinctive voice very much. Although near to the end of her life here, Agnes looks and sounds pretty good, if with unmaskable pain upon sitting and standing. When Agnes would leave Gigi two months later due to failing health, it would be WML panelist, Arlene Francis, who would take over her role. Here is Agnes' segment.
I got bored again, so here is a random tribute to Agnes Moorehead ^-^ Hope you enjoy ps.) *No copyright infringement intended!!* Special thanks to EDH1712/Aggiephile for uploading some of these clips ;)

Yet another tribute to my favorite lady :) I heard this song and immediately thought...'Agnes Moorehead!'....Therefore, I simply HAD to make another video....please excuse the terrible technology and such, hope you all enjoy it anyhow.. ^_^ ***NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED, JUST A LITTLE FAN VIDEO**** Billy joel- I love you just the way you are Don't go changing, to try and please me You never let me down before Don't imagine you're too familiar And I don't see you anymore I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble We never could have come this far I took the good times, I'll take the bad times I'll take you just the way you are Don't go trying some new fashion Don't change the color of your hair You always have my unspoken passion Although I might not seem to care I don't want clever conversation I never want to work that hard I just want someone that I can talk to I want you just the way you are. I need to know that you will always be The same old someone that I knew What will it take 'till you believe in me The way that I believe in you. I said I love you, and that's forever And this I promise from the heart I could not love you any better I love you just the way you are.
A tribute to my favorite actress, Agnes Moorehead. I hope you enjoy it. Agnes was the greatest scene-stealer to grace the screen.

Phenomenal actress Agnes Moorehead appeared on Password in April 1967 along with Broadway actor Barry Nelson. This fifth, and final, day broadcast on Friday April 28, 1967 on CBS. Agnes is best known as Endora from "Bewitched" and is wearing a diamond starburst brooch she wore many times on "Bewitched" and that she left in her will to co-star Elizabeth Montgomery. Unfortunately GSN aired this episode a minute or so earlier than even my early start time on the DVR which is why it begins after the introductions.

My books are no longer available anywhere. Bewitched in Salem. Peter Alachi reads "The Dawn of Aggie" from his book Salem's Summer of Sam: On the Trail of Bewitched in Salem, 1970. The book is the most extensive study ever done of the Bewitched cast's visit to Salem in 1970 and the filming of the "Salem Saga" episodes (season 7 of Bewitched).
Or how to get past the 1960s censors. This clip is so full of innuendo, it kills me.
