airboyd.tv Courtesy Staff Sgt. Richard Williams 455th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs 3/7/2010 - BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Airmen assigned to the 455th Expeditionary Maintenance Group were some of the first responders on the scene after an Airbus A300 crew performed an emergency landing here March 1, 2010. The aircraft, contracted to DHL International, was carrying mail and cargo when an unsafe gear indicator alerted the crew to a problem. The crew touched down after a visual inspection by tower personnel to ensure the landing gear was extended. Upon landing, the main landing gear collapsed and the aircraft slid to a stop between the runway and a taxi area. "We were actually accomplishing some work on the flightline when the incident occurred," said Tech. Sgt. Alexander Figliola, 455th EMXG, crash and recovery. "A call came over the radio for an in-flight emergency notification system for all emergency responders to come to the flightline." Sergeant Figliola, deployed from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, said as the aircraft touched down it appeared to be alright, but as it settled on the ground and slowed its airspeed, the left side landing gear collapsed and the aircraft began to slide down the runway. He said it finally came to a stop between the runway and a taxiway. "We were cleared on the runway so we all rushed to the scene not really knowing what to expect," Sergeant Figliola said. "When we arrived at the aircraft, people were sliding down the ...

Air Crash Investigation (ACI) - Air France Flight 296 HD Part 1 Air France Flight 296 was a chartered flight of a newly-delivered fly-by-wire Airbus A320-111 operated by Air France. On June 26, 1988, as part of an air show it was scheduled to fly over Mulhouse-Habsheim Airport (ICAO code LFGB) at a low speed with landing gear down at an altitude of 100 feet, but instead slowly descended to 30 feet before crashing into the tops of trees beyond the runway. Three passengers died. The cause of the accident is disputed, as many irregularities were later revealed by the accident investigation. This was the first ever crash involving an Airbus A320.

Air Crash Investigaion - Air France Flight 447 Air France Flight 447 was a scheduled commercial flight from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Paris, France, that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on 1 June 2009, killing all 216 passengers and 12 crew members. The aircraft, an Air France Airbus A330-200 registered as F-GZCP, took off on 31 May 2009 at 19:03 local time (22:03 UTC). The last contact from the crew was a routine message to Brazilian air traffic controllers at 01:33 UTC, as the aircraft approached the edge of Brazilian radar surveillance over the Atlantic Ocean, en-route to Senegalese-controlled airspace off the coast of West Africa. Forty minutes later, a four-minute-long series of automatic radio messages was received from the plane, indicating numerous problems and warnings. The exact meanings of these messages are still under investigation, but the aircraft is believed to have been lost shortly after it sent the automated messages. On 6 June 2009, a search and rescue operation recovered two bodies and debris from the aircraft floating in the ocean 680 mi (1090 km) northeast of the Fernando de Noronha islands off Brazil's northern coast. The debris included a briefcase containing an airline ticket, later confirmed to have been issued for the flight. On 27 June the search for bodies and debris was called off; 51 bodies had been recovered. This accident was the deadliest in the history of Air France. The company said it had received just 20 orders during the month compared with 67 last May. Deliveries, however, were up very slightly on last year. But orders could be boosted if Boeing secures a deal with United Airlines, which is looking to overhaul its fleet. United Airlines is also seeking bids from Boeing's rival Airbus. United Airlines has been in discussions with both Airbus and Boeing but has, so far, held off on ordering new planes, "until we can generate a return on our investment," said chief executive Glenn Tilton. And despite the gloom surrounding the airline industry, he may now be ready to take the plunge. "The analysis we have conducted for more than a year suggests that time might be now," he added. Boeing had commited Industrial Sabbotage to revive its 787´s orders as the plane prepares for its mayden flight later this month, at least according to their latest (FIVE time changed) schedule. Boeing's profits in the first three months of 2009 were down 50% from the same period a year earlier to $610m (£379m). The Chicago-based firm was forced to make production cuts after ...

Email stated: Airbus $200000000. TITANIC? This new Airbus 340-600, the largest passenger airplane ever built, sits just outside its hangar in Toulouse , France without a single hour of airtime. Enter the Arab flight crew of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) to conduct pre-delivery tests on the ground, such as engine run-ups prior to delivery to Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi .. The ADAT crew taxied the A340-600 to the run-up area. Then they took all Four engines to takeoff power with a virtually empty aircraft. Not having Read the run-up manuals, they had no clue just how light an empty A340-600 Really is. The takeoff warning horn was blaring away in the cockpit because they had All 4 engines at full power. The aircraft computers thought they were trying to take off, but it had not been configured properly (flaps/slats, etc..) Then one of the ADAT crew decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor to silence the alarm. This fools the aircraft into thinking it is in the air. The computers automatically released all the Brakes and set the aircraft rocketing forward. The ADAT crew had no idea that this is a safety feature so that pilots can't land with the brakes on. Not one member of the seven-man crew was smart enough to throttle back the engines from their max power setting, so the $200 million brand-new Aircraft crashed into a blast barrier, totaling it. The extent of injuries to the crew is unknown due to the news blackout in the major media in ...
