The 4-minute Blue Amberol cylinder is #28123. Born in Granada, Galvany studied at Madrid Conservatory. She made her debut as Lucia at Cartagena in 1897. Specializing in coloratura roles, she sang with great success in Spain and Italy, gaining her greatest popularity in South America. She also toured with a company that performed throughout Europe, including Russia, where she was a favorite singer. In London in 1909, she appeared at Drury Lane as Amina, Rosina, and in the title role of Meyerbeer's Dinorah. In Lisbon she sang uninterruptedly for 15 years at the Coliseu. She gained great success in Parma, Venice, and Genoa. Galvany NEVER appeared at La Scala, the Met, the Teatro Cﾃｳlon, or Covent Garden. She retired to Brazil and died there in poverty. She recorded a number of Edison Diamond Discs, mostly 12-inchers, none of which ever was released to the public. A few of the brown wax disc masters survive. Moja rodica Amina i kcerkica Merjem. 2006 godina. Aminina slika koja se nalazi sve vrijeme na blogu http//:minka.blogger.ba nastala je prosle godine. Amina je imala obaveza u Sarajevu i svratila je do nas. Moja kcerkica je nekako u to vrijeme proslavljala svoj prvi rodjendan i Amina joj je kupila mali poklon. Djeca su inace u toj fazi jako nepovjerljiva, pogotova moja. Merjem tada nikom zivom osim ukucana nije htjela priviriti. Odmah bi pocela histericno plakati kad bi je neko mimo nas pokusao uzeti. Amina je dosla predvecer - inace zbog obaveza nam nije dolazila nekoliko mjeseci tako da je Merjem prakticno nije ni znala. U vrijeme kad je Amina dosla beba je vec spavala. Mi smo sjedili u drugoj sobi, pricali, salili se... Amina je bila posebno rasplozena. Njen smjeh je probudio bebu. U jednom trenutku culi smo bat malih koraka i Merjem se pojavila. Provukla se izmedju nas i ne pogledavsi nas na nase iznenadjenje pravo krenula prema Amini. I Amina je bila pravo iznenadjena i smijala se uzimajuci je u krilo. Ja sam joj prije toga pokazivao neke slike na kameri, i kad se Merjem popela na krevet i krenula prema njoj poceo sam ih slikavati. Citavu noc njih dvije su se igrale. Sutradan ujutro takodjer. Merjem nije htjela odmaci od nje. Tako su nastale ove fotografije.

8th April every year is commemorated by the Islamic Ummah as the anniversary of the martyrdom of the super genius personality of Islam, Ayatullah al-Uzma Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, who was born in Kazemain (Iraq) on Ziqa'adah 25, 1353 AH He belonged to a religious family which has been the cradle of Islamic learning for about a century by now. 2 He lost his father when he was only 4 years old and he was then brought up by his mother and elder brother Ismail al-Sadr. From his very childhood he showed signs of extra-ordinary intelligence and aptitude for learning. When he was only 10 years he spoke on doctrinal matters and Islamic History with such confidence as if he had spent decades mastering these subjects. When he was 11 years old he wrote a book on logic and also began delivering lectures on this subject. In 1365 AH, when he was 12 years old, he settled in Najaf (Iraq) and began studying as well as teaching the principles of Islamic Jurisprudence and other branches of Islamic learning. He possessed such an extra-ordinary acumen that he could fully comprehend the lessons of the level of his own studies without the help of his teacher. Eventually he was elevated to the position of 'Ijtihad' (jurisprudent) and also began writing books. He has written 26 books on various subjects.
