Andy Rooney retires and gets it all off his chest.
Andy Rooney says he's not retiring. He's a writer, and a writer is always a writer. But he delivers his final commentary on "60 Minutes" on Sunday night, a moment he says he has dreaded. CBS News announced last week the 92-year-old Rooney would step down after his 1097th commentary, since beginning his long run with the program in 1978. Rooney says in his farewell piece that he has had a lucky life. But befitting his crusty nature, he voices one complaint. He doesn't like being famous and being bothered by fans. He signs off by telling viewers that if they should see him in a restaurant: "Please, just let me eat my dinner."

Posted by Ernie @ shortformblog.com On 60 Minutes, Andy thinks the books are the greatest thing since sliced bread -- definitely better than the jelly donut. He can't wrap his head around the idea that, perhaps, e-books are catching on. He also doesn't like the fact that he's not getting paid for downloads of his e-book.
