An Alabama fan confesses on Paul Finebaum to having poisoned the oak trees at Toomer's Corner on Auburn University's campus. The dosage was more than 60 times what is needed to kill a tree. Their chance of survival is almost zero. The trees are over 130 years old and are some of Auburn's most timeless landmarks. Rolling them with toilet paper after a sports victory is one of the University's oldest traditions. We are Auburn Tigers and our Spirit is NOT afraid! You can take away our Trees, but you cannot take away our Tradition. Please, if you are going to comment, show some decency. If you are deeply hurt by this incident, as many of us are, do not express your anger towards the University of Alabama. Remember, this was one man making an horrific decision, he does not represent the university as a whole.
After Thursday morning's press conference on the Toomer's Oaks poisoning, we were able to grab an interview with assistant Auburn agronomy professor Stephen Enloe who addressed the media regarding the condition of the trees. Enloe, who did not attend Auburn, and who has only been a professor at Auburn for three years, appeared to tear up during the press conference when asked if the oaks would survive a high and illegal dose of the herbicide Spike 80DF. He also seemed to get emotional when we asked him if he got emotional. "When I came to Auburn, I came all in," he said. "I love this place." www.thewareaglereader.com // @wareaglereader

Since it has been cold the oaks have not grown much so they have not absorbed the herbicide. Once it becomes warmer, the trees will begin to absorb the poison. ...
