Last rites of Ayaz will be performed at 5 pm today. His body will be taken to Mecca Masjid for prayers. The family has said that it would be a private affair. Ayazuddin was riding a sports motorcycle along with his cousin, Ajmal, on Sunday morning, when their bike crashed on Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road. Ajmal, whose mother is Azharuddin's sister, died a few hours later. He was 16. On Monday, doctors at Apollo hospital were reported to have removed one of Ayazuddin's kidneys. He was monitored by a multi-specialty team round-the-clock and his vital parameters were being maintained with supports. On Thursday, neurological tests showed severe brain damage, said senior doctors attending to the teenager. "Brain function tests conducted on Ayazuddin (in the past few days) indicate brain dysfunction," Dr K Hari Prasad, Apollo Hospitals (Central Region) CEO, said. Ayazuddin had played in the under-13, under-15 and under-19 side and was considered a promising talent. . Former Indian cricketer and Congress MP from Moradabad Mohammad Azharuddin arrived in Hyderabad early morning on Monday from London to visit his son, who is in critical condition at the Apollo Hospital after being involved in a high-speed motorcycle crash. Azharuddin would be visiting his son Mohammed Ayazuddin, 19, who is on ventilator support, later in the day. Ayazuddin and his cousin Ajmal-ur-Rehman met with a road accident on September 11. The former was racing his 1000 cc imported Suzuki motorcycle on the outskirts of Hyderabad when he lost control of his bike and met with an accident. The accident took place between 8-9 am near the Narsingi check post. Ajmal-ur-Rehman, 16, who was riding pillion, succumbed to his injuries within an hour of being brought to the hospital. Doctors at the hospital told mediapersons that Ayazuddin has undergone a special surgery in order to stop the bleeding caused by severe injuries to his chest and kidneys. Draped in a white sheet, the body of Azharuddin's nephew was handed over to his family members by the hospital authorities. Ayazuddin is the second of Azharuddin's two sons, and plays for Hyderabad under-19 cricket team. Ayazuddin is Azharuddin's son from his first wife Noureen.

The highspeed crash on a superbike killed the pillion rider, his sixteen-year-old cousin Ajmal-ur Rahman, and left the lad grievously wounded. Rushed to hospital by a police Rakshak van, he lay battling for his young life of 19 years. Ayaz is a budding cricketer, the youngest of the former captain's three sons by his first wife Noureen. Early Sunday morning, he told his uncle Baliguddin that he was going to take his Suzuki GSX R 1000, an Id gift from his father, out for a spin on the Outer Ring Road. According to the police, the mishap occurred at around 6.30 am at the Poppalguda toll gate. The duo were on their way back from Shamshabad to Gachibowli when Ayaz, who was reportedly going at full speed, lost control and hit the divider. The impact of the fall was such that parts of the two-wheeler, which skidded, were strewn around the place. Azharuddin, who was in London, was expected to arrive late Sunday night.
