For those who don't know TimeSplitters games are made by a lot of the same people who made Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. About 18 months before Perfect Dark was released a lot of the team members on Rare who worked on GE an PD resigned from Rare to start their own company called "Free Radical Design"(It's been "Crytek UK" since 2009 though). And the game feels a lot like those 2 titles. Escpecially TimeSplitters 2's Siberia level really reminds of Goldeneye's Dam. The music is composed by Graeme Norgate(other of Goldeneye's composers and he originally was supposed to do the music for Perfect Dark too... He did 2 themes for it before he quit: "dataDyne Central: Defection" and "Area 51: Escape"). I'm fan of the other GE composer Grant Kirkhope(goldeneye, perfect dark, banjo kazooies etc.) but anyway Graeme did few of the best themes on Goldeneye like: Runway, Depot and Aztec... So he's a genious too. To be honest TimeSplitters games are the only FPS games I really like after Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. There are 3 TimeSplitters games: TimeSplitters TimeSplitters 2 TimeSplitters Future Perfect And the development for TimeSplitters 4 was started but is was cancelled... Crytek has said in an interview that "they would continue the project once there is a high industry demand for such a game."

"1920 AZTEC RUINS - Guatemala The Lost Temple of T'hochek has haunted the mind of Captain Ash ever since he gave up the military life to pursue daring deeds across the continents In the deepest Guatemalan jungle it seems that his quest has become to fruition. Finally the ancient jade crystal artifact will occupy pride of place in his trophy cabinet. But the darker forces are afoot. A lost tribe guards these legendary walls and natives speak of mighty elemental golems and sentient simians. In whispers, some even say that gods from another time walk among them..." Next to Siberia, this is probably my favourite stage in the game, despite having a very limited weapon selection. This might be because the crossbow is just so much damn fun to use on all those Monkeys and retarded tribesmen that plague the map, in addition to being the only way of setting a couple of 'Fucking Tree Men' (private joke) on fire.

Ancestral Pueblo People at Aztec Ruins Early settlers mistakingly thought that people from the Aztec Empire in Mexico created these striking buildings. They named the site Aztec, a misnomer that persisted even after it became clear that the builders were the ancestors of many Southwestern tribes. The people who built at Aztec and other places throughout the Southwest were called Anasazi for many years. Archeologists had adopted a word from the Navajo language, that they understood to mean old people, and then popularized its use. Most Pueblo people today prefer that we use the term ancestral Pueblo to refer to their ancestors. At Besh-Ba-Gowah Archaeological Park in Globe, Arizona, visitors walk through a 700 year old Salado Culture pueblo, climb ladders to second story rooms and view the typical furnishings of the era. Numerous artifacts of this remarkably advanced culture are also displayed in the Besh-Ba-Gowah Museum. Besh Ba Gowah Pueblo is located at the confluence of Pinal Creek and Ice House Canyon Wash, south of present-day Globe, Arizona. Besh-Ba-Gowah has one of the largest single site archaeological collections in the southwest and is one of the most significant finds of Southwest archaeology. It is one of the largest and most complex of the Salado communities. Archaeologists consider Besh-Ba-Gowah a ceremonial, redistribution and food storage complex. Salado Culture is identified as the cultural period from 1150 to 1450 in the Tonto Basin. Kinishba Ruins is ...

Aztec Ruins National Monument Follow ancient passageways to a distant time. Explore West Ruin, a center of ancestral Pueblo society that once housed over 500 masonry rooms. Look up and see original timbers holding up the roof. Search for the fingerprints of ancient workers in the stucco walls. Listen for an echo of ritual drums in the reconstructed Great Kiva. Adventure into the past. Chaco Canyon From AD 850 to 1250, Chaco was a hub of ceremony, trade, and administration for the prehistoric Four Corners area--unlike anything before or since. Chaco is remarkable for its multi-storied public buildings, ceremonial buildings, and distinctive architecture. These structures required considerable planning, designing, organizing of labor, and engineering to construct. The Chacoan people combined many elements: pre-planned architectural designs, astronomical alignments, geometry, landscaping, and engineering to create an ancient urban center of spectacular public architecture--one that still awes and inspires us a thousand years later.

drove a quick hour to aztec new mexico and explored the ancient pueblo dwellings there. access is completely unrestricted...the park ranger gave us a briefing of what's what and we were off! walking through the mists of time to a simpler place...built in the 11th to 13th century, everything is "authentic" except for the reconstructed great kiva which was truly amazing to walk through. so here's a walk through...then we were off into the snowy desert sunset...enjoy!
