Battle Of Puebla has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
This is an original instrumental (Battle March) written by accident on Cinco De Mayo 2010. In 1862 in a town called Puebla, the Mexican Army defeated the invasion of the Spanish, English and French army's sent to collect a debt owed by the previous Mexican government. This victory is now celebrated as Cinco De Mayo.

Isn't this how Rome fell, multiculturalism? . . . . . "MORGAN HILL (KRON) -- Racial tensions are high on the campus of Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill a day after five students were sent home for wearing clothing with American flags to school on Cinco de Mayo. Several dozen Latino students walked out of class Thursday. Shouting "We Want Respect", the students marched to a nearby park where they held a rally. Along the way, KRON 4's Rob Fladeboe witnessed a dispute with a group of students waving an American flag out the window of a pickup truck. One of the marchers grabbed the flag and hurled it to the ground. What followed was an angry confrontation in which both groups of students shouted obscentities at each other." continued.. ht.ly . . . . . Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on the 5th of May, to commemorate the Battle of Puebla in 1862 between the Mexican and the French army. Since the parade passes by a few blocks from where I live, I decided to ask the people from Puebla what they thought about the celebrations.
May 5th, is celebrated as a day of celebration of when the Mexican army defeated the French army in 1862 in the Mexican state of Puebla. The day is known as Cinco de Mayo and celebrated as a Mexican holiday in the USA and in the state of Puebla in Mexico. May 5th USA, Live Oak High School, Morgan Hill, about 70 miles southeast of San Francisco, California: Four students wore attire with the flag of the United States of America, Old Glory. Some students with a Mexican heritage complained to the school stating the wear of the American flag on Cinco de Mayo was offensive and incendiary. Did the Mexican army defeat the French army in 1862 or was it the United States army? School officials afflicted with political correctness ordered the students to either remove the offensive attire, turn it inside out or go home. The students elected to go home. Since then the School District stated Live Oak High School was in error and advised students they may wear attire with the United States flag anytime. Yeah right, after the fact. The students with the Mexican heritage who complained about the American flag were victims of political correctness, and diversity. Diversity in American public schools preached the identity is not to the nation, but to one's heritage first. Basically Balkanizing the USA to weaken the nation's unity. As Dr. Michael Savage would say, "liberalism is a mental disorder." Cinco de Mayo Live Oak High School Morgan Hill California San Francisco diversity melting ...

May 6, 2010 "Students Kicked Off Campus for Wearing American Flag Tees Freedom of expression or cultural disrespect on Cinco de Mayo? On any other day at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Daniel Galli and his four friends would not even be noticed for wearing T-shirts with the American flag. But Cinco de Mayo is not any typical day especially on a campus with a large Mexican American student population. Galli says he and his friends were sitting at a table during brunch break when the vice principal asked two of the boys to remove American flag bandannas that they wearing on their heads and for the others to turn their American flag T-shirts inside out. When they refused, the boys were ordered to go to the principal's office. "They said we could wear it on any other day," Daniel Galli said, "but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it's supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today." The boys said the administrators called their T-shirts "incendiary" that would lead to fights on campus." more at: www.nbcbayarea.com . . . . . Friday, May 07, 2010: cut out a piece.. "Mexican ...

Cinco de Mayo is a date of great importance for the Mexican and Chicano communities. It marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. Althought the Mexican army was eventually defeated, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to represent a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism. With this victory, Mexico demonstrated to the world that Mexico and all of Latin America were willing to defend themselves of any foreign intervention. Especially those from imperialist states bent on world conquest. Cinco de Mayo's history has its roots in the French Occupation of Mexico. The French occupation took shape in the aftermath of the Mexican-American War of 1846-48. With this war, Mexico entered a period of national crisis during the 1850's. Years of not only fighting the Americans but also a Civil War, had left Mexico devastated and bankrupt. On July 17, 1861, President Benito Juarez issued a moratorium in which all foreign debt payments would be suspended for a brief period of two years, with the promise that after this period, payments would resume. The English, Spanish and French refused to allow president Juarez to do this, and instead decided to invade Mexico and get payments by whatever means necessary. The Spanish and English eventually withdrew, but the French refused to leave. Their intention was to create an Empire in Mexico under Napoleon III. Some have argued that the true French occupation was a response to growing American power and to the Monroe ...

Feliz Cinco de Mayo means Happy May 5th in Spanish. Mexico's Independence Day IS NOT May 5th, it's actually September 15th. May 5th was just the date that the Battle of Puebla ended. The Batttle of Puebla included the Spanish and the French and the Spanish won, claiming their Independence.
