The work in the entry gallery, All or Nothing, is a triptych of LCD screens mounted on the wall, surrounded by an altar with fresh flowers and water for the visitors. In the gallery's main space, the visitor is surrounded by several videos that are projected on cascading translucent fabrics hanging from the ceiling. They show images from nature such as sheep and grass. Together with the melodic sounds that fill the room, a meditative environment is created. The work is titled Layers Mama Layers. The piece shows also a new element in Pipilotti Rist's work, the use of computer graphics. The rear gallery is dominated by Massachusetts Chandelier, a chandelier made of underpants that were collected from the artist and her friends and family. This is my video entry for ColorfulAddict's contest. I was born in September, so my birth flower is the Aster. The Aster comes in five different colors: White, Pink, Lilac, Red, and Mauve. Out of those five, I chose three colors: White, Pink, and Lilac. I figured they'd be a very fun combination... Enjoy. Disclaimer: I do not own this song nor the band that wrote the song. {Storyline} Flower and Hannibal are mates. Hannibal and Flower are happy together and are in love, but one day Zaphod roved at the group and was able to mate with Flower. Hannibal spotted him and chased him away. He then attacked Flower. Flower over powered him and won the fight, taking his eye out in the process. Hannibal leaves and forms the Commandoes with Nikita, whilst Zaphod becomes dominant beside Flower. Flower then gives birth to Zaphod's pups a few weeks later, but the Commandoes raid the burrow and kill the pups. The Whiskers find them raiding their burrow and attack them, they winand chase te Commandoes away, but Zaphod is killed by Hannibal. Flower, wanting revenge, leads the Whiskers into the Commandoes territory, and raids their burrow. They badly wound the babysitter and try to get the pups, and manage to kill them. Then they searched for the Commandoes and find them foraging. Yet another battle occurs, this time both groups retreat after a few minutes, then the Commandoes attack the Whiskers later on. Flower, full of rage, attacks Hannibal with a few other members, and kills him. After chasing the Commandoes away, she leads the group to a new burrow, where she gives birth to her last litter with Zaphod. The video ends with her remembering Hannibal, but as the sweet Meerkat she knew as her mate. We hope you enjoy the visual story of the unassisted home birth our 5th child/1st daughter. I am a non working RN and former midwifery student. I had to unlearn all of my training as a professional, while tapping into my innate ability as a WOMAN to give birth to this beautiful soul. We did our own prenatal care which was common sense care...healthy eating, low stress, herbal teas...blah blah blah. We had no testing down during or before the birth. We did not check for dilation nor track progress, as our little lotus flower was destined to come on her own time. We remained in an upright position the entire labor, as gravity is a birthing mother's friend. It also facilitated the baby's own removal of mucous when she was born (it all came out her mouth as she came out). thus, there was no need for the invasive suctioning. I did not have someone telling me when and how to push. As Lotus and I danced, I knew at the moment that she knew, that it was time to push. After 2 pushes she crowned, I felt the intense "ring of fire", one more natural push and her head was out. Last push....we had a baby! We did not capture the actual delivery...it was either Daddy grabs the camcorder or catch the baby, as she began crowning the moment we realize the camcorder was off. Because of this type of pushing, I did not tear. We also did a partial lotus birth, where you refrain from severing the umbilical cord. We weighed our baby at the post office.
