The USS Preble DDG-88 as she pulls into San Diego bay, filmed from atop Point Loma, at Cabrillo National Monument. This is in early June 2010, on a beautiful sunny day, one of "a few" of those type days in San Diego, CA. On another note; towards the end of this video you may notice the conversation taking place. The gentleman you hear in the background is speaking about his having seen (and taken a picture of) the Nautilus Submarine (the worlds first nuclear powered submarine) as she pulled out of San Diego bay (1979?) many years ago, on her final voyage (enroute to a museum in Groton Connecticut). Even though that conversation had nothing directly to do with the Navy ship I was filming at this moment, (I had filmed a Navy sub a few minutes earlier this same day) I left that audio in the film in order to illustrate how very many kind and wonderful people I meet when ever I am out filming these ships. With pitchers and catchers having recently reported to spring training, once again Bruce Bukiet, an associate professor at NJIT, has applied mathematical analysis to compute the number of games that Major League Baseball teams should win in 2010. The Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers should all repeat as winners in their divisions, while the Atlanta Braves will take the wild card slot in the National League (NL), says Bukiet. In the American League (AL), the New York Yankees should blow away the competition, winning in the East, while the Minnesota Twins repeat as winners of the Central Division. The AL West is too close to call with all four teams within 5 wins and the Texas Rangers, Oakland As and Los Angeles Angels expected to win 82, 81 and 80 games respectively. The Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox will have a close contest for the AL wild card slot. Bukiet, an associate professor of mathematical sciences and associate dean of the College of Science and Liberal Arts at NJIT, bases his predictions on a mathematical model he developed in 2000. For this season, he incorporated a more realistic runner advancement model into the algorithm. His expected wins for the AL are as follows: AL East: Yankees 103; Rays 93; Red Sox 92; Orioles 71; Blue Jays 70. AL Central: Twins 92; White Sox 85; Tigers 74; Royals 72; Indians 67. I use to play MLB 2k7 and MLB 2K9. But I switched over to MLB 09 The Show. The Show is still a way better baseball video game. I'm use to the Show game mechanics. So I'm not too good with the MLB 2K Series.

All team logos used are property to their respective teams, leagues, and organizations. I do not claim them as my own, nor do I intend to use them for commerical purposes. The 2002-2004 Anaheim Angels logo was too busy in the background, and the 1997-2001 logo was too Disney oriented. This is a good clean logo. Many could argue that the halo should have been gold instead of silver. 9) The name "Royals" fits this logo very well. The crown tops it off, but the color is slightly dull. I also do not understand why the script and shield have a shade of blue similar to the Dodgers. It should have been royal blue. Come to think of it, maybe the Angels logo should be swapped with the Royals. The design is very good though. 8) This logo has a very good color scheme. Not too busy, but not too simple either. It just works. Besides, just look at the 1998-1999 logo and anything would be a step in the right direction. 7) Some of you may be surprised to know that the tomahawk and Braves script was first created by the Boston Braves in 1946. Though this Atlanta Braves logo was created in 1990, the design was created in 1946. I would rank this one higher if the outline was not navy blue. Navy blue must be the most overused color in logos. 6) Again, though this logo was created in 1980, the first Chief Wahoo logo by the Indians in 1946. This logo looks great on the sleeve of jersey.
