Greg Fleischut (guitar-left), Etienne Cremieux (mandolin), Erik Oliver (guitar-right), April 2006 Greg and Etienne met at David Grisman's mandolin symposium in Santa Cruz in the summer of 2006. Both were 15 at the time. Greg is from San Francisco, Etienne from Brookline, Mass. They became fast friends and have continued to get together at various bluegrass festivals and on vacations. This video was taken during Greg's visit to Brookline when the guys were just sitting in Etienne's living room jamming. It was taken with a simple Sony Cybershot camera (not even a video camera) and the guys probably didn't even know that they were being filmed. Both have played bluegrass for a few years by then. Both play multiple instruments, Etienne is a wicked fiddler. They also regularly get together at Rockygrass academy and festival. Both also play jazz, classical, and other genres. Greg composes music, sings, and plays guitar with an indie rock band he started with a group of friends as a freshman in high school called The Audiophiles (check them out at www.myspace.com/theaudiophilescali and on itunes. Legendary Bluegrass Artist Ralph Stanley Endorses Barack Obama Transcript: "Howdy Friends, This is Ralph Stanley, and I think I know a little somethin' about the families around here. And after the last eight years, I know we all need a change. Now, nobody's lookin' for a handout, but I think we could use a leader who's on our side. And I believe that leader's Barack Obama. Barack'll cut taxes for everyday folks, not big business, so you'll have a little more money in your pocket at the end of the year. He understands that our kids shouldn't have to leave our communities to find work. That's why Barack'll make it easier to send your children to college, and help create five million new jobs, by investin' right here at home. I also know Barack is a good man, a father and a devoted husband. He values personal responsibility, and family first. So please join me, Ralph Stanley, in supporting a true friend of the people, who live right here in South-west Virginia. Barack Obama is the Change We Need."
This is a cover of Metallica´s song Unforgiven =) Lyrics: New blood joins this earth And quickly he's subdued Through constant pained disgrace The young boy learns their rules With time the child draws in This whipping boy done wrong Deprived of all his thoughts The young man strugggles on and on he's known A vow unto his own That never from this day His will they'll take away-eay Chorus What I've felt What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never be Never see Won't see what might have been What I've felt What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never free Never me So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN They dedicate their lives To RUNING all of his He tries to please THEM all This bitter man he is Throughout his life the same He's battled constantly This fight he cannot win A tired man they see no longer cares The old man then prepares To die regretfully That old man here is me Chorus*2 Never Free Never Me So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN You labeled me I'll label you So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN Never Free Never Me So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN You labeled me I'll label you So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN Never Free Never Me So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN

To get this entire 1 hour video, go to www.createspace.com Way back in 1964, New York filmmaker, David Hoffman was headed down with his new 16mm hand help camera (weight 49 lbs!) to spend three weeks driving the backcountry around Madison County, North Carolina, in the center of Appalachia, with the 82 year old founder of the pioneer Asheville Mountain Music and Dance Festival, Bascom Lamar Lunsford. The resulting film, "Bluegrass Roots" lets you hear and experience the hard scrabbling, dirt road real people sounds that dominated the back country of the southern mountains 40 years ago. It presents a string of the most extraordinary singers, players and dancers the BlueGrass Mountains had to offer. Many later became famous. Some were never heard from again. Most of the songs are classics, including Lunsford's own tune, "Mountain Dew." When this film aired on Public Television in 1965, TV Guide gave it a full-page positive review, because Americans had never seen a documentary on the roots of Bluegrass and Country music. Today, the dirt roads and the moonshine counties are largely modernized, and Bluegrass Roots, stands as a record of a uniquely talented group of people at a time just before the coming of television, changed them. www.createspace.com/204609
