Wealthy and powerful Thakur Digvijay Singh (Raj Babbar) sets his eye on a beautiful gypsy girl Naina (Twinkle Khanna) and wants to make her his own at any cost. He asks his employee, Balwant (Amrish Puri) to make his son Karan (Ajay Devgan), escort Naina to Thakur's place in the city. On the route to the city, Karan and Naina fall in love with each other. But what they don't known is that Thakur takes the village girls to the city and ruins them, forcing them into prostitution. When Thakur finds out about Karan and Naina, he sends his men on a hunt to kill Karan and bring Naina to him. Krana is brutalized by Thakur's men and the police after a bounty is placed on his head. Amar (Govinda) is a Government official who visit a village to survey it. Over there he stays at the Srivastav's residence. Dharamchand takes advantage of the situation and creates more menace. Can Amar and Jaya's marriage survive the vicious web of doubts and lies?

Police Inspector Bharat Pratap Sharma (Shatrughan Sinha) lives a honest life along with his brother in a small town. When his brother marries a young girl, Saraswati, Bharat object the marriage and disowns his brother. Later, Bharat becomes the Deputy Superintendent of Police and is assigned to take charge of a Police Station of a town which is being ruled by a criminal don named Dharam Kohli (Utpal Dutt). Dharam Kohli is a dangerous man who is in line to to be a member of the Legislative Assembly. Bharat joins duty and takes immediate action to arrest Dharam and also suspends bad cop, Inspector Thakur (Manmohan). But all of Bharat's attempts to curb Dharam go in vain and he decides to go under cover and expose Dharam. He partners up with John Fernandes (David Abraham) and Prabha (Aparna Sen) to gather evidence to arrest Dharam. Soon Bharat falls in love with Prabha and they get married. Things take a unfortunate turn when a goon named Mahesh (Sudhir) secretly starts to blackmail Prabha for the collected evidence. What secret is Prabha hiding from the world? Will Bharat succeed in his mission to vanquish Dharam?
A small town in the Indian valley is run by a pack of corrupt officials who wont work unless they are bribed. The pack of corrupt officials include, Deputy collector, Hare Murari along with Police Superintendent, Pasupathi; a doctor, a forest officer, a principal, a Judge and Professor Rampyare. When they learn that a senior officer is coming on a secret inspection to their town, they assume it to be Prem Pratap (Dev Anand). In reality Prem Pratap happens to be an actor with a traveling drama company. Subsequently, Hare Murari and the corrupt officials conclude that Prem Pratap is a Government Official who has come incognito to investigate and expose them. Their fears worsen when they find out that Prem Pratap has been speaking to the President of India. Now the corrupt pack comes together to try and portray themselves as honest and law-abiding citizens. Can the corrupt officials be successful in pulling off the stunt? How will the comical mayhem play out to change the lives of the people in the town?
