  On October 8th 2009 Tachi Palace Fights featured former nationally ranked Iowa Central Wrestler and Bellator Champion Joe Soto. The New Tachi Palace Fights organization which partnered with Gladiator Challenge had the great opportunity to invite undefeated Bellator featherweight champ Joe Soto (8-0) to fight Mike Christensen. Soto gave the central valley crowd a show of all shows on his first-ever card in Lemoore, Calif. Sotos opponent was Mike Christensen who came into the cage as a two-time Gladiator Challenge and two-time Rebel Fighters veteran. Christensen had the biggest chance of his young career to push Soto to the limit but his chance quickly evaporated within minutes when he was submitted via the kind care of Joe Sotos Gogoplata in the first round at 2:06. Soto has a diverse arsenal of arcane weapons which has been untapped and unseen. Respectively Christensen did not have the cache to push Soto even though he had earned two of his four career wins by stoppage. Unmatched, Soto the 22-year-old is now undefeated in seven contests since turning pro in 2006. Now Seven of Soto's eight wins have come by stoppage. Soto is Bellator's first-ever tournament championship title holder at 145 with hard battled victories over Yahir Reyes, Wilson Reis and Ben Greer. Soto was quoted in expressing his gratitude as the true source of his success.
