What you see in this video is a natural brown recluse spider trap. To make this trap, use 1 small size cup and one "Spitting Spider". Place the spitting spider inside the cup and put a lid which will allow air in for the spitting spider. Keep the spider in long enough to let it build a small 4 to 8 strand web and establish it as her home. When night time approaches, place the cup where brown recluses will crawl next to a wall, and remove the lid and make sure you don't aggitate the spitting spider in any way, other wise she will leave the cup and find a new spot to set up. When a brown recluse detects her, he will slowly move towards her, and she will detect him also by the strands of her web. She will approach him and spit venomous silk and cause the brown recluse to get stuck to the cups surface. This video will show you that the recluse is stuck. He can't get away no matter how hard he tries. She eventually bites him several times to put him out.

This brown recluse charged at my camcorder. Only thing is, he wasn't attacking it, he was trying to hide in the lense casing. The brown recluse doesn't like to be in light, so he charged for what appeared to be a good dark place to hide. They are not agressive spiders, they only bite if they're badly spooked or squeezed. If one was to crawl on to your arm, it would be best not to freak out and panic. Although I do understand it's hard not to.

Here I am feeding one of my Brown Recluse(caught in my house) a large Orb Weaver. The Recluse is a large adult and has not eaten for quite awhile. You can get an idea how recently they have eaten by the size of their abdomen. This one had a small and shriveled abdomen before eating. After eating, it will increase in size by more than 4 times. The notable thing about this video is the ritual they perform after injecting their venom into their prey and prior to eating it. After biting the Orb Weaver it begins to navigate around all sides of its prey and spins silk and attaches it to the surroundings and ties the prey down so it cannot crawl off. This allows the Recluse to relax and wait for the prey to die before it starts eating without risking the prey escaping. There are sources that insist that the Brown Recluse only spin silk to protect an egg sac, this video along with others I had made proves that they spin silk webbing for multiple uses! I have never heard this about Brown Recluse before and was amazed to see it for myself! Their silk is extremely fine and almost invisible. It is barely noticeable when the light hits it just right and you catch a glimps of reflection off of it.
Popping the blister from a brown recluse spider bite
I thought this guy might have been a brown recluse, and based on the first few pictures I looked at, I believed it. However, there were still some slight differences. After reading a bit more into it, I found that the abdomen of Brown Recluse spiders are one uniform light brown color. This little guy has some other things going on there. Also, the legs are supposed to be one uniform color with no other pigments. This spider has some intermittent dark pigments on his legs. So, all in all, probably not a brown recluse spider. Maybe a close cousin though. : P
