Please see www.surfaceskins.com email: info@surfaceskins.com SurfaceSkins are a range of patented and innovative, disposable hygiene devices, designed to reduce the spread of lethal superbugs such as MRSA, E-Coli, E-Faecalis from areas of unavoidable contact in the vital few seconds between one user and the next passing though the door. These products have been developed in response to the increasing occurrence of hospital superbugs and rising infection levels, which affect 300000 patients and kill over 5000 individuals each year in the UK alone. The initial focus is the launch of the SurfaceSkins door plate & door handle hand hygiene covers. These clip-fit directly to existing door handles and push plates [via a holster] in clinical environments, to reduce the spread of Healthcare Associated Infections. On contact with a SurfaceSkin, the device can deliver any clinical disinfectant/solution such as the EN1500 alcohol gel currently used in hospital, providing an antibacterial, safe and sterile top surface at all times. This instantaneous disinfection of the top sheet reduces the risk of transferring germs [microorganism transmission], from user to user, in the vital few seconds individuals pass though the door. The holsters are permanent fittings but the SurfaceSkins are color-coded weekly consumables. This has already been cleared as acceptable by key NHS officials/buyers and would be made mandatory, by writing the installation/change date of the Surfacekskins, into the ...

This video is aimed at doctors, nurses and technicians within hospitals, hospices and specifically care homes that are involved with alternating airflow mattresses. A huge number of people including guests, staff, maintenance men and external contractors catch infectious illnesses such as norwalk, c-diff, mrsa and the like from soiled alternating air mattresses. These pressure relieving air mattresses are normally used for people that have serious skin integrity issues and for whom infection could be fatal. Therefore a simple wipe down (as practiced in some NHS hospitals) is insufficient. It is better to have a professional decontamination of the alternating air mattress at an approved decontamination centre such as that offered by Squirrel Medical and Spearhead. There is a legally required process as the air mattress could infect the driver / courier or the staff at the repair centre. This video is not set out to explain all aspects or interpret the regulations - but to stress the importance of understanding the rules re: infection control of air mattresses and to touch on key aspects re: returning alternating air mattresses for decontamination prior to repair

I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO USHER ft. LIL JON - "YEAH" Anywho, I always find a way to incorporate my passion for music into my life, as hectic and busy as it is right now. So once again, here's a video with my nursing colleagues that deals with microbiology. More specifically, it has to deal with normal flora in your intestines--a bacterium known as Clostridium difficile. And of course, we had to do a musical number haha. Hope you guys enjoy, and sorry for the poor quality/acting/cheesy jokes. We really are trying to get an A. Lyrics: "C. dif" Wake up in the morning Noscomial Infection See that toilet over there? Okay so I couldn't be any happier. After stopping amoxy I quickly saw an improvement in my stools. I only go once or twice a day, and yes it is a bit mushy and more than the usual fare, however it is cataclysmic improvement. I contacted my doctor with fear and trembling, by way of the secretary, he is a wonderful man but doctors want us to follow everything, I am following so much but on this one I had to do what felt right for this body. So tomorrow I go and pick up something called diobioplex or dibioplex, don't you worry I will have the exact name this weekend, couldn't quite understand it off the answering maching, anyway 930 for Vancomyacin or ?? don't know the price yet, but I am sure it is not that. So happy and eager to share this good news for some of you who might be suffering from this.

Meditrox is an innovative UK technology company who specialise in whole room decontamination within medical markets. Meditrox has just launched a new system to decontaminate hospital rooms from well known super bugs such as MRSA and C Difficile. The system combines water and oxygen to generate a dry ozone vapour which rapidly and permeates all elements of the room. This advanced oxidisation process produces highly active hydroxyl free radicals that attack and destroy pathogenic cells. A unique purge system eradicates all residual ozone from the atmosphere at the end of the decontamination cycle, leaving the room ready for immediate occupation. This breakthrough makes the novel process deadly to pathogens but safer for patients and hospital environments. www.meditrox.com
Actress Leslie Ash urges people to join the fight against deadly hospital superbugs by supporting a new £1.4 million fundraising campaign led by The University of Nottingham. The money will fund research by world-leading scientists at the Universitys Centre for Healthcare Associated Infections (CHAI) into new methods of preventing and treating superbug infections, such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile (C.diff), which are responsible for thousands of deaths every year. Over the past decade, almost 37000 people have died after contracting one of these two devastating infections, while C.diff alone killed more people in the UK in 2007 than all road accidents that year.

A shower (also called shower bath) is a booth for washing, usually in a bathroom, having an overhead nozzle that sprays water down on the body. A full bathroom may include a shower stall, whereas a half bathroom will not. Psychological Effects The pressure and temperature of the water is believed to induce release of natural endorphins. [edit] Usage Various purposes of showering include the practice of routine hygiene, as well as a safe means of removing harsh chemicals or dangerous substances from the body (for this purpose, a field shower is used, which is markedly different from a shower found in a home or public bathing facility). [edit] Elderly and disabled Showering is considered to be easier and safer than bathing for elderly and disabled individuals, as it requires less effort to step out of and presents a lower risk of slipping and falling.[citation needed] To further encourage safe bathing, some companies have started selling walk-in tubs and showers, which allow for more ease of entering and exiting a bathtub or shower area. Institutional showering in nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities was replaced for several years by whirlpool tubs.
