A clearly distressed Lucia Whalen addressed reporters at a press conference in an effort to clear her name after the city released the 911 tape. It revealed that Whalen did not identify either of the men she thought she saw trying to break into Gates' home as black, even though an initial police report said she did. unforchantly Cambridge mass is a town racially sensitive and the people of Cambridge use racism as a way to hurt one another and publicly assassinate there neighbours character
Again, here we have a broken American who was thrown down by obama's minions and called a racist for doing what was right. She never even reported to the police that there was a black man involved. Only that 2 men were breaking into a home. FUCK YOU liberals all for dividing a nation. Have you people ever heard of an "African-Canadian"? "Asian-Canadian"? www.foxnews.com The woman who made the 911 call that launched America into a national debate on race said Wednesday that she was unfairly called a "racist" after she reported a possible break-in at the Cambridge, Mass., home of black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. A clearly distressed Lucia Whalen addressed reporters at a press conference in an effort to clear her name after the city released the 911 tape. It revealed that Whalen did not identify either of the men she thought she saw trying to break into Gates' home as black, even though an initial police report said she did. "When I was called racist and I was a target of scorn and ridicule because of the things I never said, the criticisms hurt me as a person, but it also hurt the community of Cambridge," Whalen said. "Now that the tapes are out, I hope people can see that I tried to be careful and honest with my words," she said. "It never occurred to me that the way that I reported what I saw be analyzed by an entire nation." Whalen said repeatedly in the July 16 call that she didn't have a good vantage point and could not see what the two men trying to get ...
Actual tape of 911 caller to Cambridge police dept. Nowhere does the witness identify the individuals as 2 African American males, yet newsbroadcasts keep repeating that she did. Shame on the media Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested at him home after returning from a trip to China. A 911 caller reported seeing 2 men shouldering a door to gain access to the premises. When Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge police Dept arrived on the scene, after determining Dr. Gates was the lawful occupant of the premises, he proceeded to arrest him for disorderly conduct due to the unco-operatibve mood and agitated state of Dr. Gates
radioequalizer.blogspot.com -- Nothing upsets Al Sharpton more than hard evidence that doesn't fan the flames of ethnic separatism. Here, he blames the media for their coverage of the release of 911 tapes revealing Lucia Whalen's uncertainty over the race of two men who she thought were breaking into a home in Cambridge. The subsequent arrest of Harvard's Henry Louis Gates Jr for disorderly conduct has sparked a nationwide debate, drawing Obama into the fray.

You heard the 911 call from Lucia Whalen. Here are the ensuing radio transmissions from the Cambridge Police Department in response to that call.
Lucia Whalen, the woman who called 911 on Henry Louis Gates, is not a racist, according to her lawyer, Wendy Murphy. She suggests Whalen was "falsely characterized" in the mainstream media "as a racist." And as Murphy points out, "she's not even a white woman." The release of the 911 tape would later prove to vindicate Whalen. Murphy refused to comment on President Obama's take on the controversy.

911 OPERATOR: 9-1-1, what is the exact location of your emergency? FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: Hi, I'm actually at (inaudible) street in Cambridge, the house number is 7 Ware Street. 911 OPERATOR: OK ma'am, your cell phone cut out, what's the address again? FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: Sorry, it's 7 Ware Street. That's WARE Street. 911 OPERATOR: The emergency is at 7 Ware Street, right? FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: Well no, I'm sorry. 17. Some other woman is talking next to me but it's 17, 1-7 Ware Street. 911 OPERATOR: What's the phone number you're calling me from? FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: I'm calling you from my cell phone number. 911 OPERATOR: All right, tell me exactly what happened? FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: Um, I don't know what's happening. I just had an older woman standing here and she had noticed two gentlemen trying to get in a house at that number, 17 Ware Street. And they kind of had to barge in and they broke the screen door and they finally got in. When I had looked, I went further, closer to the house a little bit after the gentlemen were already in the house. I noticed two suitcases. So, I'm not sure if this is two individuals who actually work there, I mean, who live there. 911 OPERATOR: You think they might have been breaking in? FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: I don't know 'cause I have no idea. I just noticed. 911 OPERATOR: So you're saying you think the possibility might have been there? What do you mean by barged in? You mean they kicked the door in? FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: No ...

I'm guessing no one will have heard of this band, or the song! I know very little about them, save that my Step-Father was friends with most of them at Cambridge University in the late 1970's. Yes, really. Knowing I was interested in drums, in about 1981 he gave me a tape of them playing live, telling me that this was good music for me to learn from. He was not wrong, though I don't think I realised it at the time! Today, I realise they were a fucking awesome band! I have done a bit of research on the net, and discovered that The Movies were rather bigger than I realised! They toured all over the UK and Europe and I think the States, and they had initially supported acts like Supertramp and Joan Armatrading. They appeared on the uk's 'Old Grey Whistle Test' on TV THREE times. They had several albumns. In short, they were not as obscure as you might think! Anyway, I have drummed along to this wonderful groove of In The Big Boys Band for years, and have always loved the song. This version is from a live gig - I think it was on London's Capital Radio, but I really am not sure. The original version was on the albumn 'Double A', which I am sure I have somehere as a rare vinyl! The drummer was (is) called Jamie Lane. He had a fantastic, fantastic groove, and never over-played. Brilliant. Er, I admit that I definately DO overplay this, but that's 'cos I love it, and you lot don't know how it goes, and so I can get away with it (I hope). I LOVE half time shuffles (see Toto ...
