Plastic factory is the track n.9 from Safe as Milk, the debut album by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, originally released in 1967. It is a heavily blues-influenced work, but also hints at many of the features—such as surreal lyrics and odd time signatures—that would later become trademarks of Beefheart's music. The album is also notable for the involvement of a 20-year-old Ry Cooder, who plays guitar and wrote some of the arrangements. From the album - Safe As Milk (so sad baby so glad girl) When you first came round I was sad My head hung down I felt really bad Now I'm glad, glad about the good times that we've had Walked in the park kissed in the dark leaves burned just like just like a spark Now I'm glad glad about the good times that we've had You went away I cried night and day for what you done I had to pay Left me so blue I don't know where to go or what to do please come back and let the sun shine through Sun passed behind a cloud I felt so proud We walk down the street people smile that we meet And I'm glad glad about the good times that we've had You said I was the best man that you've ever had oh! Now I'm glad oh so glad

Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band - Abba Zabba Everybody's playing the major bands...but what about the good Captain? Ok, most of the stuff is really impossible to play along with, but this one is OK. It's my favourite track from the "Safe As Milk" album. Introducing my new Danelectro DanoBlaster bass-guitar, which I just bought yesterday...it was love at second or third sight (doesn't look as good as a Jazzbass, but it fits my hands and it sounds really good, plus it's a real lightweight). Have fun!
1974 Pinkpop A live performance of Mirror Man from the Dutch music festival, Pinkpop. The recording, however, is not synched with the band performing, but doesn't mean it's any less enjoyable.
No correlation between the music and the footage used from the 1956's "Pork People Like" except I like Beefheart and I like pork. It works I guess.
The Cap and his Magic Band playing their oh-so-conventional sound to a bunch of hip crowd members on a beach. Fucking love it.
