This is my fifth rough cut of a bit of The Heiress (William Wyler movie from 1949) that I produced and directed. I will be adding more refined versions to Youtube as I continue to edit the video. I have been using Apple Final Cut Pro for the sound editing too, but am now ready to try Pro Tools to see if it does better job of filtering vehicular noise. This is my first true Directing experience. This was shot out of order and I forgot to shoot one move so have tried to edit around that. The sound includes very beautiful and dramatic classical music and best listened to through headphones or through home stereo system speakers. The video is best watched in a dark room since the opening is a night scene. This version of The Heiress was filmed in an 1880 San Francisco Victorian Mansion and is based on the Henry James Novel Washington Square which is based on the famous square in New York City. In the original movie, Montgomery Clift and Olivia DeHaviland starred. None of the music in my version is from the original movie, although some of it is by Copland.
