The Department of Children and Families became aware of the allegations of drug use by Crystal. DCF requested a random toxicology test of Crystal Sheffield, during the course of their investigation, as they found it relevant to investigate Crystals fitness as a parent. At that time, in June 2009, I learned from DCF that Crystals infant daughter, Chloe, not even one (1) year of age, had been born with illegal narcotics in her system due to Crystals drug use during her pregnancy. The DCF caseworker had not informed me of this DCF case against my client, and I had no prior knowledge of the case until that time. DCF dismissed the investigation against Ronald Cummings, without explanation. I felt as if I was only being told relevant information by the family, after a fiasco had occurred. I could not represent a client who was not being honest with me, and was taking illegal drugs. To make matters worse, In April 2009, Crystal admitted to me that she had taken unprescribed pain medication. Further, her mother, Marie Griffis, reported to me that Crystal had stolen her step-fathers pain medication after he had surgery in April 2009. I was extremely concerned over my clients drug use. Crystal assured me that it was not an addiction, and that it had only taken a few pills due to back pain from an old car accident. In April, 2009, Crystal suffered another seizure, and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. All of these incidents played out loudly in the media. Despite my requests ...
Anyone remember how Kim Picazio said Crystal was mom of the year and should have custody of Junior Cummings. Kim picazio now says that Crystal is a drug addict, steals the drugs of others, was on drugs when she gave birth to her baby Chloe, was on drugs when she had her car accident. Was told by a doctor not to drive before she had her accident and much, much more. One has to wonder why then did Kim picazio advocate for Crystal to have custody. Kim claims that she did not go to court because a drug addict would not win. That Crystal's medical records were proof of her addiction. Of course Kim picazio claims she learned this all when it was to late. Here is the link to Picazio response and all she has to say www.artharris.com

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested the former step-grandfather of Haleigh Cummings for doctor shopping. Investigators say Hank Thomas Croslin Sr., 41, is charged with withholding information from a practitioner. Hank is the father of the woman, Misty Croslin, who police say is the last person to see Haleigh Cummings. During the investigation of the missing 5-year-old, law enforcement says they received information that Hank was getting prescription drugs fraudulently. Investigators say Hank obtained nearly 300 Oxycodone and Hydrocodone pills from three different physicians between April and May 2009. Hank was arrested at his Satsuma home and is in the Putnam County Jail on a $7500 bond.
Read what Kim Picazio now says about the mother of Haleigh Cummings- www.artharris.com WELAKA, Fla. - Inside the home of Haleigh Cummings' grandmother, there is a massive Christmas tree. Underneath the tree is filled with dozens of presents for many different members of Haleighs family. Some of the presents under the tree are meant to not be opened. They are for Haleigh, and they wont be unwrapped until she can do it herself. There was no decision to be made. We just honestly thought she'd be here. So when we bought for the other kids, we got for her, said Teresa Neves, Haleighs Grandmother. The presents under the trees are all wrapped to hide whats inside. Haleighs family is hiding something too. Theyre trying to be cheerful for Haleighs 4-year-old brother. It's all for Junior. Junior still has to have the same Christmas he's ever had. We can't change things for Junior just because Haleigh isn't here, said Neves. Haleighs father may have it the hardest. He has to play the role of happy dad for his son, and a father torn apart over his missing daughter. Ronald will be there for dinner and to open the gifts. But he's asked that he have the rest of the night to go off....and talk to Haleigh...He wants to be alone to talk to Haleigh, said Neves. Haleighs grandmother says shed give anything in the world to get the present she wants for the holidays. All she wants is granddaughter back home. I would give everything in my life. Everything I've ever had. Except my grand children ...

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. - As tears rolled down her face Thursady, Haleigh's great-grandmother, Annette Sykes, said she knows the pain Somer's family is feeling. TheDepartment of Children and Families became aware of the allegations of drug use by Crystal. In April, 2009 ...
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Haleigh Cummings home is only a speck on the map of Palatka county. Even from a birds-eye view, it is hard to see the homes in Haleigh's neighborhood. Finding a six year old girl has been even harder. "Each one of those plots were searched the best they could be," says George Pottorf, who has been searching for Haleigh since the day she went missing. Each step behind Haleigh's neighborhood takes you deeper and deeper into the woods. Action News found that once we hit certain spots in the woods, you could barely see a person in front of you, let alone a scrap of evidence at your feet. They are woods, a forest, that only experts can get through. Woods so deep and so thick, that even our camera had a hard time getting through some of the thickest terrain in Florida. This is the first time the public gets to see why a search on this land is so difficult. "You don't want to find anything, that's the key," says Pottorf. "Actually, you're hoping for a good result and obviously if you find what you are looking for, it's not going to be a good end result." Pottorf has the training necessary to find the clues that could lead to a break in the Haleigh case. He owns hundreds of acres right next to Haleigh's home and knows the land well. As a lieutenant with the Florida Fish and Wildlife, George is also an expert in the water. In the early hours of the investigation, George searched for Haleigh by boat too. "On the very first day, we spent probably about 16 hours ...
Video of Rons new lawyer. Article by old lawyer on Crystal Sheffield and family. This office certainly hopes that no one in law enforcement is operating on the theory that Haleigh was murdered by her mother's family. There is however a more plausible explanation. While this office does not have the statistical data that criminologist possess, it is safe and appropriate to state that most child abductions are perpetrated not by strangers, but by family members for purposes of illegally changing custody. Crystal Sheffield does not have custody of the parties' two children, including her daughter Haleigh, which is a social stigma in the eyes of some. There is often a history of conflict between the parents, with a variety of disputes involving their children. This has certainly been true with Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield. There was in fact a pending contempt hearing for back child support against Crystal Sheffield when Haleigh went missing, which is a possible motive, since she was facing jail incarceration. This office has provided to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Children and Families confidential memos dated April 1, April 6th, and April 17, 2009, that addressed these issues in great detail and correlated this to the crime scene which showed no signs of forced entry and the fact that Haleigh would have unlocked the door for a family member. The crime scene also featured a door propped open as if staged. A stranger perpetrator ...
