Asphalt Paving Inspection (Part 3) - Federal Highway Administration 1996 - Video VH-318 - Proper inspection techniques for local agencies are presented in three parts. Here's the payoff of 8 hours of hard work! I have already designed a PMX-generated Storm Watch report. I decided to make it in my WeatherSTAR 4000 style. I also took the opportunity to improve a few things: - Maps are clearer and I added an animated satellite map! That one is even a little sloppy, which adds to the "90s graphics" effect! - I added a warning that overlaps the scroll text and date with a surprisingly realistic effect! - Moon phase page now displays several cities of Saskatchewan, as achieved by SaskTel. - Text fonts are more similar to the real WeatherSTAR 4000. That's pretty much it, enjoy!
This song was often played on Weatherscan durring the early days of the Weatherscan model of the IntelliSTAR. It was featured from 2003-2005 (before the big overhaul as part of The Weather Channel's on-air re-launch. I think it might be production music for TWC. I can't find a good high quality version that doesn't have the annoying female narration talking in the middle of certain segments and flavor line-ups. I tryed to edit the song as best as I could. This was what the TV Guide Channel was like after when they discontinued support of the Amgia-powered computers that were used since the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) days of the late 1980s before when it later became Prevue Guide in 1988, then the Prevue Channel in 1993. TV Guide at the time used these special Windows NT-based computers that were used for the local cable channel listings. It was first used in December 1999. TV Guide would later continue to support the Windows NT-based TV Guide software up until when they discontinued the local listings in April 2009 in favor of interactive on-screen program guide menus from Digital Cable and Satellite recevers as well as the internet. In addition, TV Guide would eventully transform the station begining in the Spring of 2004 when they discontinued the cable highlights in favor of their own orginal programing. I do not own the orginal video, but I managed to hook my computer up to my VCR and re-recorded this video of the TV Guide Channel that was orginaly taped from October 23, 1999. As you can see, this was the late days of the Amega-powered TV Guide grid that was used since the Prevue Guide/Prevue Channel days since April 1993. TV Guide bought out Prevue Networks/United Video in 1999 and the Prevue Channel was later renamed the TV Guide Channel. The network underwent major changes around 2004 and was later renamed to whats now the TV Guide Network. TV Guide eventully discontinued the local cable program grid software begining in April 2009.
