www.matchlessamplifiers.com The Chieftain preamp utilizes two 12ax7's for its interactive tone and two 12ax7's for the reverb circuits. This highly flexible preamp circuit is enhanced by a very active mid control. The preamp section is coupled to a pair of el34's power tubes via a 12AX7 phase inverter for tremendous power reserve. The 40 watt Chieftain employs a tube powered spring reverb and a broad array of tone control knobs. The classic range of bass, mid, treble, brilliance and reverb controls provides quick access and visual confirmation of 5 tube based tone shaping parameters. Exceptionally loud sound pressure levels can be attained with no appreciable loss of tone. Additional features include an effects loop and a switchable output impedance (4, 8, 16 ohms). Sound on the 212 Combo is delivered through two Celestion speakers two g12h30s, each specially modified to a proprietary MATCHLESS formula. All of this is encased in an extremely sturdy hand-made 11-ply, ¾ Baltic birch cabinet, wrapped in richly textured black vinyl. The finishing touch is our signature backlit nameplate and control panel, which lets you (and the audience) know when the power is on. The Chieftain will support almost any playing style and is considered an excellent all-purpose amplifier.

Winner 2009 TIVA-DC Peer Gold Award - Student Documentary Production Winner 2009 Best Visual Storytelling, American Visions Broadcast Journalism Award. 2nd Place Student Short Documentary- BEA Festival of Media Arts Featured video on "Life on Terra" website, June 2009. Currently playing on Maryland Public Television as part of "EcoViews; Reclaiming the Bay" (2009 TIVA-DC Peer Silver Award). Oysters were once so plentiful in the Chesapeake Bay that sailors feared running aground on the huge, reef-like beds that rose out of the water. Today however, over-harvesting and disease have pushed the native Virginia oyster to the brink of disappearing from these troubled waters forever. Fighting to save both the Chesapeakes native oyster population, and in turn, their own way of life, a new generation of watermen and scientists has embraced the practice of sustainable oyster farming, or aquaculture, to not only save their industry, but also to clean up the Bay at large. The Chesapeake is dying, and many here believe that the humble oyster may be one of its unlikely saviors. Written, Edited by Ted Roach, Cinematography by Alex Morrison, Co-produced by Ted Roach, Alex Morrison and Caroline Aguilar, Music by Michael Zampi, Narrated by Mark Deklin.

Check out Chesapeake Bay Sportfishing. We are aboard the Net Profits with Captain Steve Dunn, Captain Rich Schott, Captain Lee Buckels and mate Dave Beck out for a day of Chesapeake Bay rockfishing. We caught 17 and kept 14 strippers ranging from 20" - 37". Wow what a day.
The super Low brought 4 days of primo bodyboarding waves to this hidden Jewel of the Chesapeake. While most eastcoast surfers had to wait until the storm passed these few lucky bodyboarders were invited to ride a wave they have only heard about or seen in previously released "TOP SECRET" footage of "Little OZ". This break is flat 360 days a year but when conditions come together it can unleash a very fun and powerful waist high wedge that will put most other spots in Virginia to shame and its over 15 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Please dont ask me where this wave is and good luck finding it. Ive been riding it for almost 20 years alone with my brothers and closest friends.
At 79 years old, Arthur Tuers has been fishing, crabbing and boating on the Chesapeake Bay for quite some time. He began working at mcnasby's Oyster Company in Annapolis at the youthful age of 10. In his time, he has seen the harvest of oysters plummet and noticed dramatic changes in crabbing, the clarity of the water and amount of pollution in the Bay. Like the rest of us, Art hopes for a restored Bay; but like few of us, he knows what it was like when you could "see your toenails" in five feet of water.

Fished for a big striped bass again. The wind was strong for a kayak, especially with a sail. This trip was one of the top ten hardest fishing trips I experienced. I trolled and trolled. Though I did not catch a big striped bass. Came back with two stripers at 23" and 24".

Sea Around Us and the Lenfest Ocean Future Project coupled with NOAA Chesapeake Bay to develop this 6 minutes animated documentary describing the past, present and future of the Chesapeake Bay.
This is clipped from the 1991 US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) video, EMAP: America's Ecological Report Card. Nitrogen and phosphorus pollution are the most serious problems facing the Bay. Too much nitrogen and phosphorus cause algae blooms that block sunlight to underwater grasses. When the blooms decompose, they consume oxygen and create dead zones, where dissolved oxygen levels are too low to sustain marine life The Chesapeake Bay is North America's largest estuary and the world's third largest. Chesapeake Bay is approximately 200 miles long and runs north-south from the mouth of the Susquehanna River to the Atlantic Ocean. The Chesapeake Bay watershed (the area of land that drains into the Bay) is 64000 square miles and has 11600 miles of tidal shoreline, including tidal wetlands and islands. The watershed encompasses parts of six states: Delaware, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, as well as Washington DC Approximately 17 million people live in the watershed; about 10 million people live along its shores or near them. There are more than 100000 streams, creeks, or rivers in the watershed, including 150 major rivers. More than 500 million pounds of seafood is harvested from the Bay every year. The Bay supports 3600 species of plant and animal life, including more than 300 fish species and 2700 plant types. Since colonial times, the Bay has lost half of its forested shorelines, over half of its wetlands, nearly 90 percent of its ...
