This vlog parallels between the lives of AG Bell and Christopher Columbus when approaching two cultural groups not of their own and how they had been given credit in the wrong way for their so-called contributions.
The real history of Columbus is a story that you most likely didn't learn about in school. The story of Columbus the slave trader of the Americas, where under his watch, genocide took place, and within 50 years, not a single original native inhabitant could be found on the island of Hispaniola. Wanbli Tate is the Chapter Advisor for Central Texas American Indian Movement and the Elder Advisor for Santa Barbara American Indian Movement, he explains how people are caught up in this myth of Christopher Columbus the hero rather than the man that committed inhuman acts.

www.blacktree.tv BlackTree TV's Jamaal Finkley sits down with Chris Evans (soon to play in 'Captain America'), Columbus Short (also appearing in Death at a Funeral) and Oscar Jaenada for the DC Comic remake, The Losers. http Synopsis An explosive action tale of betrayal and revenge, "The Losers" centers around the members of an elite Special Forces unit sent to the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. But the team--Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar--soon find that they have become the target of a deadly double cross, instigated from the inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Making good use of the fact that they are now presumed dead, the group goes deep undercover in a dangerous plot to clear their names and even the score with Max. They are joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda, who is more than capable of scoring a few points of her own. Working together, when they're not arguing amongst themselves, they have to stay one step ahead of the globetrotting Max--a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war for his own benefit. If they can take down Max and save the world at the same time, it'll be a win-win for the team now known as The Losers. "The Losers" stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Watchmen") as Clay; Zoë Saldana ("Avatar," "Star Trek") as Aisha; Chris Evans (the "Fantastic Four" films) as Jensen; Idris Elba ("Obsessed") as Roque; Columbus Short ("Stomp the Yard") as Pooch; Oscar ...

Columbusus quote: "Stop give jah praises and shorten your day..!!!!!" No prizes for guessing whom this line of speech was aimed at! (Warped Disc) 1981 remake of his own classic. This tune has a serious "hot radiator suntan!" i put it under the "heavy looking" record box back in 1984 to flatten it out but it still looks like a Stetson. for some reason its playing without the usual haul of Sellotaped coinage to the needle, i'm happy! "There was a guy from Spain, Christopher Columbus was his name. Down in the west indies, is where he get his fame. A lot of black people, Went down the train. He took men like John Hawkins, To create the world's most vivious sin. In taking a nation that was born to be free, And brought down them to captivity.. There was a guy from Spain, Christopher Columbus was his name. Down in the west indies, is where he get his fame. A lot of black people, Went down the train. On their body, you put a price, And sold them as merchandise. How can a man discover a land That was already populated by indians ? There was a guy from Spain, Christopher Columbus was his name. His composition "Christopher Columbus" was the last important hit recording of Fletcher Henderon's orchestra, recorded in 1936. It is one of the most popular riff tunes from the swing era and used as the final showstopper in Benny Goodman's first Carnegy Hall Jazz concert dating from 1938. Berry also played for a while in the Count Basie Big band. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, he is perhaps best known for his tenor saxophone work with Cab Calloway's Cotton Club Orchestra. Prior to joining Calloway's orchestra, Berry worked with Sammy Stewart, Benny Carter, Teddy Hill, and Fletcher Henderson. Though Berry based his style on that followed by Coleman Hawkins, the older man regarded Berry as his equal. Berry died in Conneaut, Ohio from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. [edit] Trivia "Chu Berry" is also the unofficial name of a series of saxophones produced by the CG Conn company during the 1920s. Berry played a tenor model that was built during this era, though saxophone collectors often use "Chu Berry" in ...

A history day project explaining the conflict and compromise of the interations between native Arawak Indians and Columbus. Conflict also occurred when the Indians tried to defend themselves; Columbus captured the natives and either used them as slaves or had them killed. The compromise in this situation was that the Arawaks were able to help Columbus and his men by showing them how to survive in this foreign land while Columbus supplied the indigenous people with new technology and introduced them to Christianity. Although in the beginning the Spanish were very dependent on the cooperation and help from the Arawak Indians, in the end the Spanish completely conquered the new land while the Arawaks were unable to survive.
