The service on the plane was very good and the food tasty. I had Bibimbop which came with written directions with regard to how to go about eating same. Fortunately for me I had experienced Korean fast food at the University at Buffalo and with my friend Chang in "Korea Town" in NY so I did not need to review the directions (however, the lawyer in me urged me to at least quickly peruse same, which I did.) Bibimbop is a bowl of cooked vegetables, meat and rice stirred together with a spicy red sauce. Sitting next to me was a young woman who I initially thought was an unaccompanied child. Turns out she was in the military and stationed in Korea! She looked about 14 years old! In front of me was a guy who I was convinced was going to spit out a lung he was coughing so much! Initially I was concerned for his safety and thought that I might need to give the Heimlich Maneuver and/or call the flight attendant. Once I realized that he was not in danger, my thoughts quickly turned to hypochondriatic thoughts! Well I am not coughing today, so all is well. I flew into Incheon International Airport and then took a shuttle bus to Gimpo domestic airport ...

We travelled along Route 13 which guidebooks warn has seen some bandit activity by Hmong tribes-people in the past. These ethnic Chinese people fought against the Communists in the second Indochina war and seemingly still bear a grudge if the travel advisories are anything to go by. Fortunately we survived the journey with nothing worse than a touch of travel sickness. We made it into town in the early evening and took a tuk tuk to our guest house. Cat, the Irish nurse we were travelling with, had had the foresight to suggest we call ahead and make a reservation. Lots of the places in our price range were full - as we sat down on the pavement café to enjoy an iced coffee we saw several backpackers moving from one place to another looking for rooms. We had dinner in a restaurant set beside a beautiful lilly pond - the town seemed really peaceful, at least until we hit one of the only trendy nightspots in town, but even they threw us all out at 11.35. Broadway Joes with "Le Tool" SHOW #8 - Friday August 21 in Buffalo, NY at Broadway Joes. A rare beautiful night in Barffalo. Only problem was, no rock n rolling mofo's out this nite. Must be grilling on the bar-b. Now thats some dangerous rock n roll. I dont understand much, but a few things about this show have me and the fellas itching our heads. Why does the bar have a web site and a myspace and no mention of this show? Why is there no mention in the local papers? Why did the promoter not poster the crap outta this town? If I were the headlining Amplifires (from the uk), and seen no promo of any kind, well, I would be pooping mad. Why is it that we have to drive to another city to see how real rock n roll bars and promoters put it all on? Buffalo gets a bad rap everywhere we go, and rightfully so. If you are a promoter, stay the entire show and support it. Buffalo promoters always dissappear in the middle of the night. Dude, wheres my money? Anyway, we were ok. My bro, Bones did some video taping. I reviewed it that night, wow am I...fat. Not Phat. Standing outside after the show we got some bottles lobbed at us from some delinquints from across the street. They used to be me. Some cousin called some sister a bitch and the brothers cousin wanted to fight until mom broke it up and they all went home for inbreeding and stuff.
