U.S constitution Article 1 Section 8 defines the powers granted congress and defines what they can spend money on. why has the media not held them to those powers. no spending on earmarks, health care, etc. "congress powers are few and defined"-James Madison

The media is supposed to be the first line of defence against the loss of our freedoms. they scream loudly when the freedom of the press is involved but sit quitely when other freedoms are in trouble. when congress spends money from the treasury on earmarks they are stealing from the public to pay back donars for favors. we would have no deficiats if they spent according to the powers granted them by the constitution.

Since congress and the president took an oath to uphold the constitution they should read it before any action they take to see if they have the authority to take that action and point out that authority in their bills before voting. If they go outside the authority granted by the constitution, they should be charged with violating that oath.

Every congressman/woman who took ear marks is a thief, robbing the treasury of the united states. Why isn't the media questioning this practice? Have them show you in the constitution where they have the power to do this. nowhere in the constitution does it give them the power to spend money except to pay the bills ,protect the U.S. and provide for the general welfare of the U.S. (Article 1 Section 8 U.S. Constitution.)

Anyone in the media have the nerve to address any of these comments? Probably not, your job would be in danger if you did since the large media firms are in the pockets of the politicians.
