Frigate Bay, St. Kitts (August 31, 2010) -- Coast Guard Ardent was safely retrieved from the Frigate Bay beach on Tuesday afternoon. The vessel was transported via flatbed to the Coast Guard base for inspection, repairs, and recommissioning. The vessel was beached during the passage of Hurricane Earl to protect the vessel and crew.

EASTHAM -- The body of a 60-year-old part-time Orleans man was found this morning in the water off Coast Guard Beach. Donald Holborn, 60, was recovered this morning after his boat ran aground with the engine running and no one on board, according to a press release from Eastham police. A rescue effort ensued that involved local public safety on ATVs, as well as a Coast Guard helicopter and Falcon jet. The rescue effort started shortly after 9:30 am At around 11 am, Holborn's body was spotted by the Coast Guard helicopter and a rescue swimmer pulled him out of the water onto a boat. Bystanders on the beach said there was heavy fog and surf this morning, according to a Times photographer on the scene. The accident is under investigation by state and local police.

It clearly shows heavy machinery moving sand from a large pile on the beach to cover up a large area of contaminated shoreline. At the beginning, you will see the low area of beach that is filled with dispersed oil and tar balls. By the end, the beach looks pristine, as if no oil had ever been there. But now we know, it's just buried a few inches below. Just yesterday the Coast Guard made a press release claiming that no sand is being dumped over oil on any beach... but here they are watching it happen. We demand to know just what is going on here.
