I watched this and thought that others may want to see it, if not then don't watch it, the choice is yours. Rice plays piano for the Queen Who can doubt that Britain and the United States operate in close political harmony? As if to illustrate the point, the outgoing US secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, last night played the piano at Buckingham Palace. The concert, broadcast nationally in Britain, was attended by the Queen, who afterwards presented Rice with a recording of the recital. (Presumably not a bootleg version on an old tape recorder concealed inside the royal handbag.) Accompanied by Louise Miliband, the wife of the foreign secretary, on violin and three members of the London Symphony Orchestra, they performed a piece by Brahms. The request was apparently made by Rice, an accomplished musician who once considered a career as a concert pianist. In the past she has performed with the distinguished cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Her visit this week is likely to be the last before Barack Obama's administration picks up the baton. Rice is not the first pianist to double up as a politician. Poland's prime minister after the first world war, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, was better known as concert virtuoso before coming to power. The flamboyant, mop-haired musician eventually stormed off the political stage and back to his recital stool. Ted Heath loved playing the piano, too. Tony Blair enjoyed strumming his guitar and Bill Clinton could perform on the saxophone. Reinforcing ...
Vindication is on the way if Obama doesn't screw things up by fulfilling his campaign promise of retreating from Iraq before the job is finished. I think that this is one of many promises that he made to the far left that he will break for the greater good of the country; he is no fool. Go Obama go, win this war for us just like McCain would have done. Maybe Obama will be Bush III, as far as the war is concerned. Dr. Condoleezza Rice became Secretary of State on January 26, 2005. Prior to this, she was the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor, since January, 2001. In June 1999, she completed a six year tenure as Stanford University's Provost, during which she was the institution's chief budget and academic officer. As Provost she was responsible for a $1.5 billion annual budget and the academic program involving 1400 faculty members and 14000 students. As professor of political science, Dr. Rice has been on the Stanford faculty since 1981 and has won two of the highest teaching honors -- the 1984 Walter J. Gores Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 1993 School of Humanities and Sciences Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching. www.whitehouse.gov WASHINGTON Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Sunday she regrets the US relied on flawed intelligence as the basis for going to war in Iraq and took partial responsibility for mismanaging the post-invasion occupation. The outgoing US Secretary of State was accompanied by Louise Miliband, the wife of Foreign Secretary David Miliband, and three members of the London Symphony Orchestra in her performance of Brahms. The stateswoman who is a concert level pianist was allowed to use a music room at the palace after expressing a wish to play for the Queen before leaving office at the end of the Bush administration in January. The Queen listened to part of the performance, and afterward presented Miss Rice with an audio recording of the recital as a gift. Miss Rice started playing the piano as a child and planned a career in music, originally enrolling at university to study the subject before switching to political science. At 15 she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor with the Denver Symphony Orchestra, as a prize for winning a student competition. She was taught the instrument by her mother, who was a music teacher, and regularly performs private chamber music recitals with four friends, leading to her be described as the world's most prominent amateur musician. Miss Rice was visiting London before heading for Brussels to attend a meeting of Nato leaders. Earlier in the day, she met Gordon Brown and Mr Miliband.--Telegraph

It shows something to the organizational skill of Prime Minister Fayyads government that he was able to pull it off anyway with a thousand sudden guests, and to pull it off in a way that gave new hope to this very special city of Bethlehem. I had visited Bethlehem not too long before that and I had seen the difficulties of the hotel that was empty, of really not very much economic life. But of course, even before that, there had been another Bethlehem. The Bethlehem just a few years ago, in which tanks had been in the streets and in which literally, a hole had been blown in the Church of the Nativity by mortar fire now, to see, as I was told, a thousand people in Nativity Square in the open air having dinner just several years after that terrible scene of a hole in the Church of the Nativity speaks to what is possible when people give voice and give reality to hope. And that is what we are engaged in: giving voice and giving reality to hope." "And so I want to assure you, in closing, of one thing: As you think ...

representativepress.googlepages.com representativepress.googlepages.com Condoleezza Rice: Liar, Secretary of State, War Criminal pt1 NOTE that in the video I should have said "two senior administration officials" instead of saying "two former administration officials" (which is even worse than what I said): "But almost a year before, Ms. Rice's staff had been told that the government's foremost nuclear experts seriously doubted that the tubes were for nuclear weapons, according to four officials at the Central Intelligence Agency and two senior administration officials, all of whom spoke on condition of anonymity. The experts, at the Energy Department, believed the tubes were likely intended for small artillery rockets." Precisely how knowledge of the intelligence dispute traveled through the upper reaches of the administration is unclear. Ms. Rice knew about the debate before her Sept. 2002 CNN appearance, but only learned of the alternative rocket theory of the tubes soon afterward, according to two senior administration officials. An anti-war demonstrator accosted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as she arrived to testify at a hearing on Capitol Hill, shouting "war criminal" before being dragged away by security. Members of the Capitol Police department also removed several members of the anti-war group "Code Pink" from the House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing room, who struggled as they left. The hearing began on schedule and Rice's testimony did not appear to be affected by the incident.

Panama: Condoleezza Rice asked OAS representatives to send a commission to Venezuela to investigate why venezuelan government didn't renew a TV station license. Venezuelan foreign minister Nicolas Maduro answered "Venezuela is a sovereign nation and the problem of renewing a TV license or not is an internal affair, and was done according to venezuelan law, instead an OAS commission should be sent to mexican-american border and Guantanamo prison to investigate human rights abuses there". Rice made a reply (in this video) but didn't wait for venezuelan counter-reply and abandoned the assembly. OAS representatives rejected american proposal and elected venezuelan Jorge Valero, as President of OAS General Commission assembly.
