James Kalm slips into Williamsburg under cover of night to bring viewers a look and an extended interview with one of Chicagos preeminent contemporary artists, Tony Fitzpatrick. Obsessively worked and fabricated from the cast off refuge of down home culture, Fitzpatrick weaves a narrative of tragic heroics recording a poetic portrait of one of the last of the great Native American leaders Crazy Horse. With simple scraps and elementary colors these collage paintings transcend their small size to express a sense of monumental mourning. Includes an extended interview with Tony Fitzpatrick.

The masterpiece 'Cortez the Killer' in an outstanding live performance, Live Rust. It was recorded on October 22, 1978 (1978-10-22), at the Cow Palace, San Francisco. Cortez the Killer by Neil Young -- He came dancing across the water With his galleons and guns Looking for the new world In that palace in the sun. On the shore lay montezuma With his coca leaves and pearls In his halls he often wondered With the secrets of the worlds. And his subjects gathered round him Like the leaves around a tree In their clothes of many colors For the angry gods to see. And the women all were beautiful And the men stood straight and strong They offered life in sacrifice So that others could go on. Hate was just a legend And war was never known The people worked together And they lifted many stones. They carried them to the flatlands And they died along the way But they built up with their bare hands What we still cant do today. And I know shes living there And she loves me to this day I still cant remember when Or how I lost my way. He came dancing across the water Cortez, cortez What a killer.

Hello ruby in the dust Has your band begun to rust After all the sin we've had I was hopin' that we turn back Old enough now to change your name When so many love you is it the same It's the woman in you that makes you want to play this game. Hello woman of my dreams This is not the way it seems Purple words on a grey background To be a woman and to be turned down Old enough now to change your name When so many love you is it the same It's the woman in you that makes you want to play this game.

From Live Rust (1979) TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT Tonight's the night, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, tonight's the night. Bruce Berry was a working man He used to load that Econoline van. A sparkle was in his eye But his life was in his hands. Well, late at night when the people were gone He used to pick up my guitar And sing a song in a shaky voice That was real as the day was long. Tonight's the night, yes it is, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, yes it is, tonight's the night. Early in the mornin' at the break of day He used to sleep until the afternoon. If you never heard him sing I guess you won't too soon. 'Cause people let me tell you It sent a chill up and down my spine When I picked up the telephone And heard that he'd died out on the mainline. Tonight's the night, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, tonight's the night. Bruce Berry was a working man He used to load that Econoline van. Well, early in the morning at just about the break of day He used to sleep until the afternoon. Tonight's the night, yes it is, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, tonight's the night Tonight's the night, tonight's the night.

RUST NEVER SLEEPS (1979) Neil Young's 1978 concert tour, documented in this acclaimed two-hour film that was directed by Young himself (using the pseudonym Bernard Shakey), is a treat for the singer-songwriter's fans. The concept of the show is high (for Young, anyway), if rather odd: roadies (here called "Road Eyes") decked out like the Tusken Raiders from Star Wars, stage announcements from the original Woodstock during set changes, and giant amps, microphones, and so on for an "Incredible Shrinking Man" effect. Of course, it's the music that counts, and there's plenty of that, what with nearly 20 songs (including two versions of "Hey Hey, My My," his nod to the punk movement), acoustic and electric (with longtime companions Crazy Horse), dating back to his Buffalo Springfield days ("I Am a Child") and continuing through popular solo numbers like "Cinnamon Girl","Powderfinger" and the extended "Like a Hurricane."

DOWN BY THE RIVER Be on my side, I'll be on your side, baby There is no reason for you to hide It's so hard for me staying here all alone When you could be taking me for a ride. Yeah, she could drag me over the rainbow, send me away Down by the river I shot my baby Down by the river, Dead, oh, shot her dead. You take my hand, I'll take your hand Together we may get away This much madness is too much sorrow It's impossible to make it today. From Live Rust (1979) LIKE A HURRICANE Once I thought I saw you in a crowded hazy bar, Dancing on the light from star to star. Far across the moonbeam I know that's who you are, I saw your brown eyes turning once to fire. You are like a hurricane There's calm in your eye. And I'm gettin' blown away To somewhere safer where the feeling stays. I want to love you but I'm getting blown away. I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream, You could have been anyone to me. Before that moment you touched my lips That perfect feeling when time just slips Away between us on our foggy trip. You are like a hurricane There's calm in your eye. And I'm gettin' blown away To somewhere safer where the feeling stays. I want to love you but I'm getting blown away. You are just a dreamer, and I am just a dream. You could have been anyone to me. Before that moment you touched my lips That perfect feeling when time just slips Away between us on our foggy trip. You are like a hurricane There's calm in your eye. From Live Rust (1979) POWDERFINGER Look out, Mama, there's a white boat comin' up the river With a big red beacon, and a flag, and a man on the rail I think you'd better call John, 'Cause it don't look like they're here to deliver the mail And it's less than a mile away I hope they didn't come to stay It's got numbers on the side and a gun And it's makin' big waves. Daddy's gone, my brother's out hunting in the mountains Big John's been drinking since the river took Emmy-Lou So the Powers That Be left me here to do the thinkin' And I just turned twenty-two I was wonderin' what to do And the closer they got, The more those feelings grew. Daddy's rifle in my hand felt reassurin' He told me, Red means run, son, numbers add up to nothin' But when the first shot hit the docks I saw it comin' Raised my rifle to my eye Never stopped to wonder why. Then I saw black, And my face splashed in the sky. Shelter me from the powder and the finger Cover me with the thought that pulled the trigger Think of me as one you'd never figured Would fade away so young With so much left undone Remember me to my love, I know I'll miss her.
From Live Rust (1979) THE LONER He's a perfect stranger, Like a cross of himself and a fox. He's a feeling arranger And a changer of the ways he talks. He's the unforeseen danger The keeper of the key to the locks. Know when you see him, Nothing can free him. Step aside, open wide, It's the loner. If you see him in the subway, He'll be down at the end of the car. Watching you move Until he knows he knows who you are. When you get off at your station alone, He'll know that you are. Know when you see him, Nothing can free him. Step aside, open wide, It's the loner. There was a woman he knew About a year or so ago. She had something that he needed And he pleaded with her not to go. On the day that she left, He died, but it did not show. Know when you see him, Nothing can free him. Step aside, open wide, It's the loner.
From Live Rust (1979) AFTER THE GOLDRUSH Well, I dreamed I saw the knights In armor coming, Saying something about a queen. There were peasants singing and Drummers drumming And the archer split the tree. There was a fanfare blowing To the sun That was floating on the breeze. Look at Mother Nature on the run In the nineteen seventies. Look at Mother Nature on the run In the nineteen seventies. I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high. I was thinking about what a Friend had said I was hoping it was a lie. Thinking about what a Friend had said I was hoping it was a lie. Well, I dreamed I saw the silver Space ships flying In the yellow haze of the sun, There were children crying And colors flying All around the chosen ones. All in a dream, all in a dream The loading had begun. They were flying Mother Nature's Silver seed to a new home in the sun. Flying Mother Nature's Silver seed to a new home.

Another performance from the famed Catalyst shows, this hard rocker is reminiscent of Violent Side and I Got A Problem, there's a smattering of angry guitar, angry lyrics, and a real intensity that Neil doesn't show too often. I HAVE TREID EVERYTHING WITH THIS HORSE, HAVE BEEN BACKING HIM FOR 2 YEARS NOW!!!! EVERYTHING WE DO IS FOR A REASON! IF YOUR GOING TO MAKE A NEGATIVE COMMENT DONT BOTHER AS IVE HAD ENOUGH OF IT NOW... YOU WILL BE BLOCKED!!! my horse does this every time he is ridden, once the rider come off and gets back on he is fine! lol. you have to be patient though, cuz he lurs u in2 a false sense of security first! he was beaten as a baby to be gelded, i sent him to various people as i could not touch him for 2 years, i was told over and over to have him shot! eventualy sent him to a natural horsemanship person who made him handleable, he can be ridden normaly in blinkers but is other wise a very well behaved and well mannered horse to handle, the rider has his reins tight as if he doesnt he bucks and twist and you will fall off. we r working on him still and he is improving! slowly but surely, i will not beat him so stop commenting saying to do so! hope u enjoy the viewing, lol x AND..... WE CAN NOW RIDE UP AND DOWN THE YARD WITHOUT ANY BUCKING OR REARING!!! SO BEFORE YOU SAY I DONT KNOW WHAT IM DOING I DO, LOL, AND HAS BEEN 2 1/2 YEARS SO NOT RUSHED HIM AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! THANKS TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS... :D
Filmed on my visit to the Crazy Horse Monument at the end of July 2008. Interesting history about the creation conceived by Korczak Ziolkowski.
The yet unfinished Crazy Horse Memorial mountain carving is located less than 30 minutes from the famous Mount Rushmore Presidential Memorial where the heads of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln were carved into the mountain rock for the eternity. The Crazy Horse mountain carving dwarfs the impressive Mt.Rushmore one in size and scale. Also the time to create it is an eternity compared to the Mt.Rushmore project. The sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski started working on it on June 3, 1948 and it is still far from being finished today. In contradiction to the the better known and federal funded Mt.Rushmore project is the Crazy Horse project entirely funded by the people who donate time, resources and money and by the admission to the visitor center and North American Indian Museum, which is located at the mountain base. full version, no video Lyrics: The Legend of Crazy Horse by JD Blackfoot You took his land and you ate his corn, and on his grave your land was born. You took his pride and you fed him dirt, you wished him winter without a shirt and you called this red man SAVAGE! And after you crushed him you helped him up, to let him drink from an empty cup. You gave him that Navy without the fleet, and made him lick your hands and kiss your feet, and you named this mad dog SAVAGE! Well I found a book the other day, so I looked up red and white to see what'd say. One was a savage, the other unlearned, like a look in the mirror the tables were turned....for history has named you--SAVAGE! In the year of 65 when I was very young, we watched the dust clouds to the south and we knew that you had come. We saw you build your chain of forts along the Bozeman road But Red-Cloud had his allies a-counted long before it snowed. And someday Great White Father you will know my name! In the year of 66 you met me face to face. I decoyed your Captain Fetterman and we never left a trace. Into our sacred homelands your Blue Coat Soldiers came, But we just taught you a heap-big lesson in the battle of a hundred slain. And someday Great White Father you will know my name! In the June of 76 our Nation joined its hands. We made our camp at the Little Bighorn not knowing of your plans. You sent your long-haired Custer of the Seventh Cavalry, to hunt and kill my children for wanting to be free. And I think it's ...
www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Durham Electronics Crazy Horse Fuzz pedal, while inspired by a classic tone, the Crazy Horse is very versatile pedal with a ton of different tones available. The Crazy Horse features Fuzz and Drive controls to mix up fuzz and overdrive as well as a Volts knob that allows you to "starve" the bias voltage and imitate the sagging tone of an old tube amp. The Durham Electronics Crazy Horse Fuzz pedal gives you a classic Neil Young tone as well as more modern overdrive options. The Tone control is very interactive without getting messy at the extremes. The Overdrive is tight and controlled while the Fuzz is squishy and funky...the fun part comes when the two are blended together.
