During their second week in Costa Rica, CU Denver pharmacy students get adjusted to their daily routine which includes Spanish courses in the morning and pharmacy work in the afternoon. Their international rotation allows them to see the different ways medicine is practiced, especially in Latin American countries. Stay tuned to see our students exporing more of the natural surroundings in Costa Rica. During their thrid week, students will participate in clinic and volunteer work.
Common Ground International, a non-profit organization working to bridge the language and culture gaps between English and Spanish speakers especially in the field of medicine. Every year they offer a medical mission and international rotation opportunity in Costa Rica. CU Denver pharmacy students recently arrived in Costa Rica for a 6-week language immersion and international rotation. They will work in local pharmacies and volunteer with local clinics, practicing their Spanish speaking skills and medical Spanish knowledge.
