This small daily newspaper in Central Texas is the host town of massive Fort Hood Army base. It was the scene of anti-Vietnam war demonstrations and two mass murders. We worked at the Daily and remember it well. We remember those who are no longer with us.

As an agenda item open to comments or questions, Alderman Rick Lawrence wanted to get the opinion of the appointee before voting, but Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns (who's husband is on the AHA board) objected. Mayor Tom Weisner would not permit questions from the City Council to the mayoral appointee and threatened to have Alderman Lawrence removed.
